The LFC Midfield......
After the saga we have just witnessed with Caicedo/Lavia it is incredibly ironic the initials these three make……
Well well well, after 6 years of pain in the midfield and having to endure the likes of Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Saul and Barkley we finally have a world class midfield again. No disrespect to Kante or Kovacic (2018-21) but boy have we watched some bad midfield lineups in this time.
We now have an incredibly midfield with amazing potential to grow even more. At just 22 Enzo is the oldest of these three players, which makes this even more exciting.
I am going to compare each of them against each other in the same metrics;
Look how well rounded Lavia and Caicedo are, what one doesn’t do as well, the other does.
And then Enzo slots on and does what he does………
This midfield is not only young with incredible potential, but it is so well rounded it actually blows my mind.
We are set for the next 5/6 years with these players and that is without the likes of Ugochukwu, Santos, Casadei and whoever else I may have forgot.
I am absolutely buzzing to see these guys line up together, but I think we may have to wait until Luton or maybe even the Forest game for that.
My perfect XI (at the time of writing) when everybody is fit will look something like this;
If it is against a team where we want an extra attacker we can always rest one of LFC midfielders and bring in an extra attacker, but I do not believe we will need to do that often.
This team gives us excellent balance, the ability for both RJ and Chilly to bomb forward and an incredible bench to change up the game.
Let me know your thoughts below and your perfect lineup when EVERYBODY is fit.
Luke Rushbrook
The only change I would make is to include Forfana for Disasi when fit.
To be fair.. as much as i love Chilwell, im leaning towards Colwill as lb in the hybridrole with Disasi/Badiashille/Silva as our 2 centrebacks.
Gives us the oppertunity to build as a 3 - 2 - 4 -1 with a very solid back 3 in possession. Mudryk out wide and the oppertunity to got enzo very high up the field
