The biggest issue I have with replacing him is that there is no outstanding candidate who I would see as a guaranteed upgrade.

It’s undeniable that he hasn’t been backed by the board in the transfer market either so he probably deserves another window to (hopefully) add the experience to the squad that he has been crying out for.

Hansi Flick is a very obvious upgrade

Someone said “[p]rogress happens too slowly to notice, setbacks happen too fast to ignore. There are lots of overnight tragedies, but no overnight miracles. Growth is driven by compounding, which always takes time. Destruction is driven by single points of failure, which can happen in seconds, and loss of confidence, which can happen in an instant.” Progress is being made. KTBFFH! 💙

Im so tired of the constant looking at data. Data can be good in some ways, but its a lot about IFS and WHEN’s. Ut can be manipulated to fit into your narrative. What has happened with actually watching the games? Data is being learned on way to much and it has brainfucked people into thinking its the Only way to meassure things these days.

We can lose a game 3-1, but the xG says we should have scored 3 goals. But if you saw the game, would that actually be true? I have witnessed first hand how xG can be totally fake from reality and again, its all about whats when and IF’s.

We deserve what we see on the pitch and people should start using they eyes more than looking at numbers.

So good to read a balanced article that reflects the unsteady progress we are seeing.

So much of the narrative and hysteria are around the fact that Poch came from Spurs.

Of course they're going to be ups and downs with a young inexperienced squad. But why do so many people give more weighting to a draw against Sheffield United than that amazing performance against Man City.

Of course the defence is worrying but at no point have we ever been able to play what is likely to be our first choice. James, Fofana, Colwill and Chillwell. Add to this that Caicedo has had to play pretty much every minute due to injuries to other midfielders and you can see how we can struggle at times.

So thank you The Score for a measured and calm article.

Thanks @ The Score. A great review and positive outlook on the progress we are starting to see which I concur with. I will also think there are definite signs of players improving under the management team. These include Gusto, Caicedo, Jackson and even Gallagher and Mydrych. Given time I’m sure these players will improve further and others will also benefit from the coaching and environment. None of this of course takes into account the impact Palmer has had which is well above expectation and now matches the lights of other gates in their first season. The future for him is very high.
