LATEST! Chelsea closing on Lavia & Olise, Sources: How Poch has been involved in transfer deals, Sources: 5 clubs keen on Cucurella, Caicedo player profile, Club knew on Kepa all along...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 16th August 2023!
Morning all,
This week has been a great week so far and it’s only Wednesday! Chelsea are really looking likely to now have a very strong end to the transfer window and as we approach the final two weeks, there wont be a lot of sleep happening in the Cobham offices as they continue to work over time to get outgoing and incoming deals done!
As always, I recommend heading to the live blog from yesterday first and foremost so you can get the absolute latest on all our deals right now, as well as some sourced news provided by me - including news on Chelsea targeting two MORE attackers this window 👀 So please scroll down that here. Also, the latest as Chelsea close in on Romeo Lavia and Michael Olise, can be found in this one.
I had a couple of big sourced articles out yesterday, one REALLY positive one on Mauricio Pochettino and his direct involvement in our transfer deals such as Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo. If you didn’t see this yesterday, I highly recommend reading that here.
The second sourced article was on Marc Cucurella’s future, with the left back now looking more and more likely to leave the club this window. Not just Newcastle, Cururella’s agents are taking interest from a handful of other clubs. Again, if you missed this yesterday, it’s another must read here.
We must milk the heck out of this Moises Caicedo transfer because we all waited patiently (impatiently) for three months to get this one done, and now we must enjoy him and make the most of this beautiful moment! Our guy Luke Rushbrook had his famous player profile article out yesterday that he does for every new signing, and it’s another good one here.
Finally today, as Kepa Arrizabalaga’s move to Real Madrid was confirmed this week, it’s time to reflect. It looks like the club, and Mauricio Pochettino have actually always been open to letting Kepa go this window, and that pleases me greatly. It was the right decision, and I’ve spoken about all of that in here as well as wish Kepa luck for his move.
OK, see you all on the live blog from around 8am today, more madness incoming….
Peace, Si.
Good morning Simon, just caught up with the blog and all the articles from yesterday. Really like how Poch is being hands on with these transfers. Without him, who knows, we would never be celebrating Caicedo or Lavia
It’s kind of crazy that Cucurella tried so hard to get Caicedo to Chelsea when you think that he’s set to leave. He also:
- Never settled in London, and his form dropped dramatically from the previous season
- Got booed multiple times at the Bridge
Speaks to his character. If he does leave, I wish him all the best.
