Chelsea 1 Brighton 0: The Debrief, Match reactions, Sources: U25 rule/Proven players being sought/Jan plans etc, Performance review, Chelsea's lack of experience, and much more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Thursday 28th September 2023!
Morning all,
Of course, all the talk is once again about Chelsea’s latest match, this time in the League Cup last night against Brighton. And guess what folks? Chelsea won a football match! Let’s soak that in and enjoy it for the rest of this week!
I watched the game and put out my debrief article here which gives my reactions to the game, goes through individual performances and rates the players, and gives a conclusion on the game overall.
Onto the rest of the content now away from the game. I had a big sourced article out yesterday on some thinking for the next two transfer windows. Chelsea plan for one or two windows ahead, and even though there has been a big debate on the apparent ‘U25 rule’ and lack of experience in this squad, I understand this is not something that is staying in the thinking of the decision makers at the club. I have much more on that here with the latest inside info.
The eagerly awaited performance review on from Luke Rushbrook is our next article for the day. Our in house scout watch Angelo Gabriel play recently and has his report on him here. Another top one from Luke this.
Will Reyner was next to step up for us with his weekly column for the site. He honed in some more on the subject of lack of experienced and proven players being signed in the summer and has looked at the all sides of it. As always, Will’s writing talent shines through in this one here with some great opinions as well.
Finally for this newsletter, roundup all the news from yesterday in here. This includes noise of Victor Osimhen to Chelsea bubbling up as expected after the events of this week with him and Napoli falling out big time. Find out all about that and much more in yesterday’s live blog.
We have a Podcast today but details of what’s happening with that will be on the live blog, that I’ll be starting up from around 8am today! See you all there!
Peace, Si.
