Brief overview:

This was Angelo’s 2nd consecutive start in the league, he is firmly starting to nail down a place in Patrick Vieira’s team now.

Stats show you a factual outlook on any performance, but they can only take you so far, I strongly believe in the eye test as well and upon watching this game Angelo certainly impressed me on the eye. His dribbling was excellent and really direct, his eye for a pass (especially a through ball) is something I didn’t realise he had and his energy was electric.

I was pleasantly surprised with his work-rate and defensive contributions, he worked tirelessly to help his team.

The assist he got was a fairly simple one, a pass into space for his team mate to drill the ball low past the GK. He could and maybe should have had at least one more assist with a couple of good crosses and through balls that teammates couldn’t finish.

Summary:

After a slow start, being limited to brief cameos off the bench, Angelo is starting to take to life in France well. The fans have clearly taken to him well and his confidence seems to be growing.

I will be keeping a close eye on how he fairs over the coming weeks and months and as always I will provide you all with an update on his progression and performances, weekly!
