Peter Osgood (then a refreshing thru Zola) & currently, Jude Bellingham (non Chelsea), but for the Blues, Reece (when fit) and Guro Reiten/Lauren James/Erin Cuthbert.

A few names there - is that cheating - but some great players of the beautiful game.

No cheating at all. Hard to name one.

Chelsea

Hasselbaink - you could never predict when/where he might strike.

Ngolo - the little man, outrageous energy.

Non-Chelsea

Odegaard (as a la Real fan, was so disappointed he could not stay)

Ronaldinho

First one is likely to be on a lot of people's list. Gianfranco Zola. Eden Hazard being just edged out. Both played football happy. And Deco. That guy was a genius, the stud-roll control every time. Superb.

But my favourite player to watch now is Lauren James. The way that she just has everything. Will outmuscle someone, outskill them with flicks and feints, and then score an audacious finish. If she continues, she could clean up the Ballon D'or Feminin for years to come, and completely transform women's football.

Charlie Cooke - nothing overtakes the boyhood hero! - but Odegaard, Foden, Mbappe aren't bad. For Chelsea current players (well almost!) Ruben flickered at end of Sarri reign and offered a glimpse of what might have been only for fate to snatch it away.

Wanted to be Dennis Wise as a kid with his presence and leadership. Currently love watching Lauren James and Malo Gusto both of whom are really silky players. Lauren being the Messi of her generation in my opinion.

Paulo Maldini.. There were a few before and a few after.... Frank Lampard really identified with how I felt about football. Watched him as a youngster at West Ham and it made my day the day Chelsea bought him.

I know exactly where Craige, Jonathan & Colin are coming from as that 1960s into the 70s Chelsea team were flamboyant and fun to watch but to grind out a result.

However things changed around 2000 with the foreign players coming to Chelsea I.e. Vialli, Zola et Al.

But I would have to say Mr box to box Didier Drogba out of everybody I’ve seen was the one.
