Building our team of players we love to watch or used to love to watch......
Using our very own Jai's killer question.
Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents,
Today I am starting a new series where I ask you all Jai’s killer question that he asks every new guest at the end of the weekly SPTC podcast.
For those that don’t know, although I assume the vast majority do, Jai’s question is “What player made you fall in love with football” & “What player keeps you in love with football”.
It is an AMAZING question and one that I struggle to answer with just one name for each and one that I always change my answer to.
Frank Lampard made me fall in love with football although there was the odd player before him but the first season I really remember was 2003/04 and I just remember him scoring a belting first time finish in to the top right corner v Lazio and telling my Grandad that I want to be like him!
Currently the player I love watching the most is Phil Foden, I just love watching him play, he is absolutely majestic and plays the game with such a freedom and passion that is just a joy to watch. It’s a little painful that it isn’t a Chelsea player I am mentioning but we all know where we are currently and when you are inconsistent it is hard to love watching players as much as it is for ones who are at the top of their game.
It’s a rather short article today but one that I need ALL of you to interact with. Please all get in the comments and tell me who made YOU fall in love with football and who keeps YOU in love with football.
Next week we will then start to build either an 11-a-side or multiple 5-a-side teams of players we love or used to love watching play the beautiful game.
Thank you all in advance for interacting and as always thank you all for reading.
Luke Rushbrook
Paul Gascoigne and Jack Grealish (no explanation needed) 😎
Peter Osgood (then a refreshing thru Zola) & currently, Jude Bellingham (non Chelsea), but for the Blues, Reece (when fit) and Guro Reiten/Lauren James/Erin Cuthbert.
A few names there - is that cheating - but some great players of the beautiful game.
