For a player like Broja and the team he plays for, he needs to be able to score way more frequently. Now that he's been give the chance to start matches he should able to score from one or two situations and seemingly he misses those chances. You don't get many chances to prove you deserve first team spot, so if you miss couple of those chances then we're already on the fence. Nobody will wait for you to grow into the season. Not in the top 6 clubs. Such a pity he picked up that bad injury too.
I think he will come good but like you say he needs a run of games. A loan would be the best option in my opinion. I do however understand the importance of FFP & became more real earlier this week when it was a relief that we were compliant last season.
Quite whether or not Poche is having to trade off Broja to keep Gallagher it’s above my pay grade.
I’ve made the point continually that at 6ft 3” Broja has already stuck his head through the ceiling but that he has got a great view of the loft contents.
Let’s be serious the lad has no spark, no energy & even the ball prefers to be elsewhere as he has no stick ability.
The serious injury can’t be used as an excuse any longer as he has been edged back into playing and poche protects his players.
Darren makes a great comment that he needs to be somewhere where there is no pressure I think is how he put it.
For me championship quality at best because not only don’t we know what he is doing up top but neither does he.
A very safe and conservative pick from me, especially as far as FFP is concerned would be Watkins and he is very close to being my number one. Although Isak just pips him at the minute.
Wouldn’t touch Osimhen, and would review Toney on the summer.
I think both will be attainable in the Summer, this will be the only chance Watkins will have to move to a "top 6" club & Newcastle really need to bolster their squad, 2 of Guimaraes, Botman, Isak & Gordon could all go in my view.
I'm not convinced. When I watch him play he lacks aggression and bite. He reads sleepy and very passive. Seems like he wanders the pitch and doesn't get himself in positions to score.
His ceiling may be higher than Jackson for all I know but at the moment his level is nowhere near Jackson. In the end players have to be sold and bought that's professional football. Its no different to Tammy's case and in fact Tammy had done more for the first team than Broja by some distance.
While we all love the " academy boy made good" storyline, hes simply not been producing goals. Hes a nice backup striker for a top club, or a starter for a smaller club, but given his injury, lack of production and the ability ( need?) to sell for " pure profit" vis a vis FFP, yes, sell.
We need a new striker and we need to raise funds to keep complying with FFP so sadly I think we have to seriously consider selling Broja. I wouldn’t be rushing into it but I just don’t get the feeling he is cut out for the highest level and I’d rather keep Jackson - partly because I think he has a better chance of making it and partly because Broja’s transfer would be pure profit.
It could come down to scenario where fans have to ask themselves whether they want to keep an academy graduate (we all know the names) or for the club to be potentially deducted 10 points, for example.
It seems extreme but then ask why have only 2 players been bought by Premier League clubs so far in the January window. Because clubs are crapping it about the ramifications of FFP

I said at the start of the season, he needed to go on loan and play without pressure.
Here we are, 14 months in, after his injury and he doesn't look fit or sharp.
I dont think he'll ever be up to the level, that we need at Chelsea.
So I'd sell and bank the profit.
The bigger question is, who is that elusive number 9 we so desperately need.
I still can't make my mind up on who would suit us best.
Have a read of my article yesterday mate and see what you think!?
I did read it Luke.
A very good read 👍
Agree whole heartedly with you.
There is no perfect fit.
I think us all Chelsea fans are all paranoid about spending big and getting it wrong again.
This time, due to the tightening of FFP rules, we won't be able to spend our way out of it, if we were to sign a dud yet again.
I still can't call it myself.
Osiman in the Sumner looks possible.
But... is HE the answer. Didier, Obi and many others seem to think so.
Who are you going for, Luke?
Who do you think will be that number 9 that we sign?

I'd say neither are getable though.
Watkins signed a new deal before Christmas at Villa.
To be honest, I'm not a big fan of him.
Isaak.. No way Newcastle would sell him. I think it would be Botman they'd sell if pushed, because of FFP.
Back to square one then!🙂

Good Points Luke.
But we are nowhere near being a Top 6 club.
Also, do you really see Newcastle having to sell two of their four starts because of FFP?
That would set them back massively, to where they want to be.
I can't see any of it happening.
PL experience is really important for me
