Sources: Why Michael Olise move failed, Sources: Who Chelsea are looking at as Olise 'alternatives', Sources: Striker pursuit - big updates on MANY names, Sources: Maresca at Cobham & MUCH more....
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 24th June 2024!
Morning all,
I hope you had a good weekend. It all went a bid mad with the transfer news and everything changed. I have no idea why they are briefing so much to the media with every little detail about every little bit of interest and talks - It doesn’t help. The Michael Olise situation was just ridiculous, and it’s now all over too.
Before we get into all of that - get the very latest in the transfer world and rumours surrounding Chelsea in the Sunday news report here.
What happened with Olise to Chelsea and why did it go from confident of signing him to pulling out? I’ve got the full story from SPTC sources in here.
You can also read what The Score thinks about the Olise situation in here as a bonus bit of content for today.
Sourced stories is the theme for today, and I’ve got three more to accompany that one.
You’d have had this next one here in your inbox yesterday morning, and it is on the striker search. This has become completely wild. One minute we are negotiating to sign a tall physical striker, the next minute we are making contact for the 5ft 9in Jonathan David. This is what I mean about briefing so much info on everything, it just makes it all look so messy and like we actually have no idea what we want to do or who we want to sign as priority. It’s normal for clubs to have many different targets for the same position and to explore options, but this is just proper wild.
Back to Olise now, sort of. Chelsea still want another new winger this summer, and this is now another confusing situation. They absolutely wanted to sign a right winger, but now they are looking at left wingers as well. They want a flexible winger really, one who can perhaps operate on both sides if needed. I have some names from SPTC sources in here as they now turn and move for Olise ‘alternatives’.
Finally, the last one from SPTC sources today, and some more exclusive information. This is a very positive one. Enzo Maresca is well and truly getting to work, and he has even met a couple players already. He’s been to Cobham, he’s chatting about recruitment, and he’s been doing some very impressive home work too. Find out all about that and much more in here.
SIX articles for you all to kick off the week, see you all on the live blog from 8.30am this morning for much more. We go again.
Peace, Si.
Thanks and I know you’re only giving us the information you are given but I’m starting to find it’s hard to believe anything. It seems to start with a player that will improve the team to one who is no better than what we have or maybe even worse.
