Sources: Chelsea now moving on Michael Olise 'alternatives'
New winger options being explored....
With Chelsea pulling out/missing out on Michael Olise this summer, there is now a confusion around what they will do next.
As of late Saturday night, SPTC source understand internal talks were happening on this.
We heard from a good club source that Chelsea’s idea was to bring in a new right winger this window to compete and add depth to that side alongside Noni Madueke. This was the plan. They expect Cole Palmer to be playing more centrally next season rather than a right winger. Enzo Maresca likes his wingers to be more 1v1 by-line wingers. Other reliable outlets such as The Athletic also reported this.
However, attentions could now turn to more flexible wingers and perhaps ones who can provide cover and competition on BOTH flanks. Matt Law of The Telegraph mentioned yesterday that Chelsea were now looking at right-footed wingers, which would match up with this news as a right-footed winger could play on both flanks.
