Thanks @TheScore. I am so glad that you have highlighted some of the background that people tend to forget of the situation when the new owners took over. Some of this tends to be forgotten and there was an extreme amount of work to be undertaken in all areas of the club as we had not moved on from the structure under Roman to one that was required in the current environment. I like you loved everything that Roman bought to Chelsea, including winning of competitions, most of us could only dream about beforehand. Todd knows sport, big sport and he is supported by a financial partner. I like you would like to see consistency and I think at the end of the day that will be the driver for the decisions of the next week or so.

Thank you for this article and all the others you’ve written during the course of the season.

Another thoughtful, well-written article, capturing the feelings of many of us on here. You manage to balance your reactions to events against a logical and researched background.

Thank you for all your articles this season: they have added to my enjoyment of this community.

Good read. Echoed my immediate thoughts when I read the initial soundbites that were released. Let’s hope the trajectory continues!

Interesting article and positive too! Not sure what "When we bought the Dodgers in 2013 we started 15 and 25" means though 😕😕😕

Won 15, and lost 25 - so he was alluding to the fact they weren’t great, but it has to start somewhere.

Got it! Thanks Dan!

Yep. Baseball plays 162 games between March and September, so starting 15-25 is not ideal. Most teams shoot for between 90 to 100 wins to guarantee playoffs, so if you start poorly in the first couple of months, you have to make a massive turnaround to make up for the bad start.

Chelsea, its a long term project now, we are just consumers of their product. They have no idea of legacy English football, community and care little. Id Todd want to compare FSG and Klopp one PL title, good return you tell me?

Dodgers have only won one big "World Series, in 2020" but they do win divisional titles and make a ton of money of the IP rights. It's a very different sport, most fans sit in bars to watch and it's a traveling circus.

One big win in 23 years good return? Well yes we make lots of $$$

Dear The Score massive applause for telling it like it is and a big thank you from me.

It’s clear there are still some structural issues at Chelsea Fc but enough has been done to call the season a success.

Many supporters (not all) are appreciative of what has been accomplished with a bunch of kids who are growing into a real force in the premiership.

It’s clear though that not everyone can bring themselves to praise what has been achieved which is a shame which is why I liked your article which stuck to the facts sadly nowadays journalism isn’t always like that!

Big decision to be had surrounding the manager this month. For sure it seems he has the players support. However this 2 year contract nonsense will provoke more debate and uncertainty from November onwards if its not addressed. Its time to commit or move on.
