In the cold light of day your reasoning does stand up young team inexperienced in some cases still not at their professional peak and not having had the work load previously as we know managers do tend to shelter young players in terms of match time, so if you have a squad of young players eventually it’ll catch up with you.
In the meantime perhaps I could put forward an alternative conjecture which I like to think of as my Xmas pudding conjecture.
Let’s start with Sanchez: passing wise 7/10 for “on the brandy”, dropped for the Ipswich game 9/10 ate 3 Xmas puddings all by himself Xmas day and couldn’t make it to the team bus.
The Defense obviously did the double hit but hid the brandy in the Xmas puddings of which the all had at least 3 each except for Disasi whose passing told a story about his brandy intake.
The midfield were fairly abstemious and generally were good boys but still managed a pudding each.
Our wingers usually fleet of foot obviously we’re still eating Xmas puddings in the dressing room.
Palmer well he wanted to know what the fuss about Xmas puddings in and Brandy was about and Jackson well he obviously had had so much Brandy he couldn’t tell which goal he was supposed to be aiming for as the posts and crossbar kept moving.
That my friends is the true explanation for went wrong over Xmas and if you believe that you’ll believe anything. Lol
Defaulting to the position I originally held is about right.
I originally thought hiring Masesca was a massive mistake, I was just starting to be won over by results, but now we are falling back to where I expected.
Arrogance, bad attitude, no plan B and repeated mistakes from the managers favourites.
I read some else saying teams play a back 3 against us and that’s slowed down the scoring. Outside of Palmer and yes Jackson the aren’t many goal scorers. Sancho has 1, Neto has 1. Madueke hasn’t scored in a good while has he? Felix won’t score many no matter how many opportunities.
That’s why I do favour putting Palmer back on the wing and giving nkunku a go at 10.
professional players who have been playing a game a week cant handle 7 games in a month! wow! what will they do if they end up playing CL football next season when you are up against good teams and have to pick your best sides for midweek games too?
Yeah not really a reason at all, if some hit their stride like Newcastle and Villa with same scheduling, and Ipswich had one less day of rest for our game. Fatigue a poor excuse for a 1bn squad with no notable European football and comparable scheduling….so gotta be down to coach or just humans having a lull week
I think we've really missed fofana and lavia. Fofana offers balance to our defence when in possession whereas lavia is so effective at starting attacks, whilst allowing Enzo to operate in the half pockets. Fingers crossed we have them both back very soon
Dear Score.

Anyone calling for the manager’s head needs to have a proper word with themselves 🫠
Some very good points.
But it's the same for all teams.
Before the Fulham game, Silva said he had to pick that team/ formation due to injuries.
He completely outhought Maresca on the day.
Marescas squad use has been very poor as well along with his game management.
That's my biggest concern!
Not forgetting his obsession with playing Desasi at RB!
