Todd Boehly oversaw a transfer window of Koulibaly, Sterling, Aubameyang, Cucurella (who has been horrible until the euros), Fofana (has played about 20 games in 2 years). Sacked Tuchel & brought in Potter & then wanted to stick with Poch after we won a few games against teams on the beach. The clearlake vision is clear as day and so clearly the way forward. If Boehly & Egbahli fell out over Poch then I'm team Egbahli all the way.
It seems pretty clear unless another bidder appears it Boehly vs Clearlake and I’m in the Boehly camp for all the reasons stated in the article above.
No one opens if they have any sense with the winning bid always expect some wriggle room so I expect Clearlake to walk away with nearer 100% profit for their 2 year involvement.
Tbh if Clearlake win it’ll be disastrous in my book.
Thanks a really good read. I think this needs to be sorted as soon as possible because the club will drift if not and that won’t end well. Money alone won’t bring success without understanding the club and football in general. Clearlake so far have shown very little if any so far.
One quick clarification: The Dodgers have not built (and to my knowledge have no plans in place to build) a new stadium. They've made progressive upgrades to the stadium as time has gone by, but they're still located in Chavez Ravine, partly because finding land to build a new baseball stadium in the heart of LA is virtually impossible.
I suspect that any planning from Boehly probably has a similar idea in mind for Stamford Bridge since it's virtually impossible to find a new location inside London and the foothold is also restrictive, much like the area around Chavez Ravine.
The Score, you make a very good argument for why Todd should proceed to raise the money and buy out Clearwater. I think the critical question is who will be the investors that replaced Clearwater, will Todd then have the control he needs to take the club forward in the way he wants. It’s really important that we have transparency on any new structure whoever the out right owner of the club is. Like you let’s hope it’s not a long dragged out of fair and that it does not get nasty. Let’s hope these business people can do the right thing and come to the right decision in a short period of time behind closed doors and make a joint public announcement of the outcome.

Who exactly is investing £2.5bn in the club and handing over full control to one individual? The answer I suspect is no one, just like it was in 2022.
Agreed. Team Boehly. Someone make the t-shirts
