Time for owners to react (Arsenal 5 Chelsea 0), Sources: Chelsea consider re-signing former player! Owners should listen and respect fan concerns, Chelsea should be touting Cesc Fabregas, More..
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 24th April 2024!
Morning all,
Last night saw yet another terrible and embarrassing performance and result from Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea, and it has once again highlighted our clear problems and mistakes. Sometimes the cracks get papered over by the odd decent performance from us, but I’m no longer prepared to ignore the glaring issues, and the owners need to react RIGHT NOW.
You can grab my full thoughts and review on the game and how it all panned out in here.
Before the game, we had plenty of content flying around as usual. And the first one is an interesting sourced article on Chelsea’s search for a new striker. Under consideration is a former Blue, and you can read the full story on who that is and what the situation is on him here 👀
The Score was back with another banger for us today, and this time he opens up with an honest article on his feelings about Chelsea this year and how the board need to listen to the fans who are usually more measured. It’s been a tough season of ups and downs, and I think it’s all been summed up perfectly in here.
Something a little different now from me. There was a bit of Cesc Fabregas chatter going around on socials this week, with the Como assistant manager catching the eye of Chelsea fans. He looks to be growing into a very good coach, and I explain in here why I think Chelsea should be touting him right now. Some great video clips of his coaching skills in this too.
And of course, we had the live blog running yesterday as usual and this is the place to find all your latest Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in the same place. Transfer rumours, quotes, and everything else that has been going on in this here.
I’ll fire up the next live blog from around 8.30am today, see you there and we can all rant together and drown our sorrows!
Peace, Si.
The questions I am asking myself: What would sacking the manager now accomplish? Would the team play better? They might if they felt they were being mismanaged. And there is historical support for this. But they pretty much universally seem to like the guy. (I know, not exactly the same thing, but definitely not like the end of some other managerial terms) Would a new strategy move us up the table? Again maybe, but with so few games left, the new strategy it would need to work from day one and work through all the remaining games. So who is stepping in with that plan? Right now I don’t see vacating the manager position as a good move. Not that I am supporting his continuing into next season. And lastly, the 9th place team, almost all preferred players injured or ill, play the number one team, in a tight race for the title, away. What did we think was going to happen?
Thanks Si as i said this substack is therapy for me “Hi my name is Rob and i am Chelsea fan”
