THE DEBRIEF: Chelsea 6 Middlesbrough 1, Sources: Do Chelsea need to sell to buy? Looking Back: Super Dan Petrescu, Luke's message to board - SIGN BENZEMA!, Full news roundups, and more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 24th January 2024!
Morning all,
Chelsea were in League Cup semi final action last night against Championship side Middlesbrough. And the news is great news, we are off to Wembley people!! Chelsea won 6-2 on aggregate after a very entertaining game at Stamford Bridge. I can’t quite believe we have got to a cup final this season, but here we are. It’s a great achievement and will be incredible if we can bring the trophy home.
You can get my full thoughts on the game as well as my manager and player ratings in here.
I’ll roundup Mauricio Pochettino’s comments on the live blog this morning from around 8am, but make sure to check in on yesterday’s live blog here first which covers all your Chelsea news and transfer rumours as we built up to the game yesterday. This also has some very interesting snippets on Victor Osimhen! 👀
Away from the game now and we are still in a transfer window, one that has been super quiet for Chelsea so far. But will anything now heat up in these final 8 days? Do Chelsea actually need to sell to buy? I have all that and more in here.
Luke was on hand pre-game yesterday as always to put out his latest article for us. This one is simple, and Luke has a clear and simple message to our board - Go and sign Karim Benzema NOW!! You can find that in full in here.
And the last one of the day is episode two of my new feature, ‘Looking Back’. I think these articles will be a welcome stroll down memory lane and away from any current affairs at the club. Last week I began with cult hero Diego Costa, and this week I have gone for late 90s hero, Dan Petrescu. Super Dan was a superb right back for the club, one of the best I have ever witnessed. Walk with me down memory lane in here.
The latest live blog will be fired up from 8am this morning, please do join me there on the home page to offer your thoughts and reactions from the game last night.
Peace, Si.
