I would like us to be Borussia Dortmund, it would be upgrade! Those 4/5 can also be older than 24-26 as well. Great article once again but I think you’re talking to the converted. We are all on board with this view. #LetToddControlCFC
The point everyone is missing, is Eghbali doesn't care if we win the league or not. They want Chelsea to be in the Champions League for the revenue, but they didn't buy Chelsea because they were desperate to win, they bought Chelsea so they would have a seat at the table, so when regular season Premier League games are being played in The USA, Saudi and Japan, they can have a piece of that pie, not to mention any future global super leagues.
To The Score and to all fans here. We all keep repeating the same and we won't be listened to. Why, because they don't listen to us since the beginning. I feel that more and more as time goes by. This article is one of the series of articles Si and The Score write for the audience. We keep articulating the problems that THEY created but...no change so far and there will be no change until them troublemakers be replaced!!!

Some great points thanks Si. I will have to disagree about ‘playing good football’ as more often than not we don’t. The players do not look mentally right at the moment and the one’s who have left are delighted to go. I don’t know what this project is and it’s not and won’t work for the reasons you stated. A balanced squad. Everything that they do says to me we are going to be a club that just has a portfolio of players to sell, loan and swap to make money and if we do manage to win something that’s a bonus. Bad owners more often than not means the team doesn’t function successfully. The trust has gone.
i just cant get my head around this thinking from our owners and SDs of building a youthful squad and let it grow! With the money spent we could have easily added experience in key positions and that does not mean signing 32 year olds.
Who are the reference points for this young squad? Who provides the leadership when the chips are down? Who makes them accountable if they slack off in training or during games? Who sets the culture in the squad and instils a winning mentality?
Lets start from the top. The owners despite their public statements have done nothing to instill a winning culture and mentality like Roman did. Roman hired the best people in the industry early on to run the club. Kenyon and Jose are two prime examples of that. What did these guy do? Hire 2 SDs who were nothing more then scouts / analysts in their previous roles at the mighty Wigan / Brighton and Everton / Monaco. They had no idea of how to build a winning squad or came from cultures where winning was prioritised.
Then you have your coaches like Potter, Poch and Meresca... they are not serial winners like Jose, Carlo or Conte. Infact they were most of the times okay with the meh results. That's how you destroy the mentality and culture.
They could have easily added atleast an experienced & top class player in each of defence, attack and midfield which would have been such a big boost to the entire group.
Exactly Umair, I mean we don't even work in football and we know this, how these guys think they know better than every successful club in history is laughable.

Absolutely spot on in every thing you have said , alas I think it will fall on deaf ears 😡

Ha yes, I also choked a bit on "playing good football"

Its going to be a long road in because Maresca now darent play Sanchez after Brighton exposed the glaring weakness in the squad.
Put Sanchez under pressure and time and time again the ball is returned to you, so you can resume the pressure and your attack.
I want to see the wingers Sancho and Neto / Madueke / whoever else taking on players and attacker the back line.
The best form of offense is attack its no good building up possession minutes if you dont put the ball in the back of the net.
