Great insight Dylan👍👍 having watched a few Leicester games his ability to pick that crucial forward pass is something I believe the strikers will thrive on😁
Thanks for your insight and providing us all with greater information on KDH. Really interesting analysis and to be able to see his strengths and what he will add to the team. As always, we appreciate your time and effort Dylan.
Would it be possible to have his radar chart from his last season in the PL? It's probably more relevant than a season in a team with by far the best squad in the Championship.
I believe he'll be out on loan within 18 months and is nowhere close to good enough for us.
There is a huge gulf in class between the PL and the Championship. Adam Armstrong got 21 goals last season, having got 2 in the PL the season before.
Dewsbury-Hall is not close to the same level of ability as Gallagher, Chukwumueka etc. A pointless signing.
Can't post the photo in the comment here, but feel free to look it up on McLach App. I have a hard time believing that he will be out on loan. I think that he has found his stride a bit under Maresca, being put in better situations primarily. In his two previous PL seasons before the championship he only took 21 shots and 26 shots. This past season he took 87. Why is that? In Maresca's system the attacking 8 has much more responsibility crashing the box. When he was playing under previous coaches he was not given that freedom to crash in the box. In those PL seasons, of the 47 shots he took 30 of them were outside the box. Last season under Maresca as you can see by the shot map provided in the article less than half of his shots were outside the box.
Carney certainly has a higher ceiling, but cannot be guaranteed because of his injury history. I think he is a really bright talent and if given the runway for sure he can be better than KDH. I do however rate KDH more than Gallagher. Connor is a solid player, but does not have the technical ability that KDH has imo. You are well within your right to have that opinion on KDH however, but I think that he will do a great job. Thanks for reading.
See I can't get on board with that. It's so absurdly unfair on Conor.
Conor has come through the best Academy in England. He's a full England international. He's 18 months younger. He's played in a variety of positions. You don't do that if you lack technique.
Conor has 18 goals in the PL in 140 games at the age of 24. Dewsbury-Hall has 3 in 59 at the age of almost 26. Replacing the former with the latter makes no sense.
I get that people want to try and be positive about new signings, but extrapolating from a season in the Championship when we already have 2 seasons of PL data and he's hardly a youngster is rose-tinted glasses.
We should have saved the money spent on him and Kellyman (who is an even worse waste of money) and bought Olise, who actually *is* a difference maker who'd improve our first team.
I don't think it's apples to apples when comparing the two. Looking at goals isn't a fair way to compare the players. KDH's passing ability is far superior, his progressive carries is superior also. I am not saying Connor isn't as good of a player, they are probably around the same, but have different specalities. KDH has done it in Maresca's system before and I rate that. I am not going to speak on whether or not they should have spent the money on Olise, because I believe Madueke has room to grow and when Esteavo and Paez come in they will be complete game changers.

Thank you Padraig. Especially with the pace on the wings I think that would be great.
Excellent analysis of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Dylan.
Thanks Dieter!
Great analysis & really looking forward to seeing him play
Thanks Colin. I think he will do great.

Fantastic article! Thanks for writing all is this up for us.

I said I think he'll be out on loan within 18 months, partly because I think Maresca will be sacked within that time frame.
I just think it's a pointless signing of a player nowhere near as good as the likes of Chukwumueka, Gallagher etc (or Loftus-Cheek for example).
He was about to be sold to Brighton. He doesn't improve our first team in any way, shape or form.

“Hasn’t historically been a great goal scorer” is a very kind way of saying he has 3 goals in almost 60 PL games 😂😂😂
please see my above comment.
