Great accurate article. WOW, right to the point. The points are well done. Refreshing. BUT, the SDs have to go.

Written from the heart Rob, well done a great rant read.

I cant help think that we sit 4th in the table by default of others having mares of games this season but it is what it is, if we only had a 9, Ozzie, JFH, a Costa, id even take CR7 at this time, a decent midfield, a decent CB pairing yep we still lack a spine....

One small note, the SDs have no credibility whatsoever with the majority of Chelsea Fans, #UTB

Our tagline should be ‘We buy players so you don’t have to!

Chelsea now essentially a philanthropic nonprofit football player rental service? We buy in players at huge cost, and then loan them out to clubs with the only ask being that they cover the players running costs.

It does feel like they have ripped the heart out of the club and we are being run by accountants who only care about the bottom line and what happens on the pitch is secondary. It’s just a portfolio of players to buy, sell and swap.

The SD’s were ok at Brighton, so perhaps their now apparent ineptitude is because they are being directed by the one of the owners, E?, pursuing some moneyball strategy of his own devising. More frightening thought, perhaps Chelsea know they will fail the next PSR test and without a guarantee of Champions League are already planning to sell Palmer? Object lesson in how to squander £1.5 billion.

Brilliant article Rob, fully agree. I wish the directors and owners would actually listen to us fans.

great article. Also i think the only way this ownership will wake up to the disastrous squad building by the SDs is match day dissent.

Well written and a great read Rob. I cannot disagree with a lot of of what you say although I would comment that Nkunku could help the situation by at least showing an interest, or at least greater interest and more effort than he has done over the last 2/3 months. The circumstances as you set out are unfortunate but it’s also on the player to prove himself as an asset and value to the team.

Spot on Rob - I also liked the Mateta shout. Really like his physicality and can clearly score - could have been a great alternative.

Fantastic article, Rob. I don’t see how even the staunchest of Clearlake and sporting director backers could argue with any points made.

A brilliant piece thanks Rob. I’ve been watching football for nearly 60 years and although it has changed a lot one thing that hasn’t changed is that if the owners/management are incompetent the team on the pitch will not be successful although it is puzzling how the women’s team are just functioning perfectly.

The incompetence is scary. How are they running Chelsea Football Club? We are making ourselves a laughing stock in the football world. We should only have ELITE football minds running an ELITE club. They are mediocre at BEST.

What should happen:

1. Top DoF brought in and PW is either dismissed or demoted to a HoR role.

2. Stewart dismissed or made technical director of Strasbourg.

Bottom line is a clear structure of roles and responsibilities is needed. No more meddling from Eghbali and Co.

Executing strategy, squad planning etc sits in the remit of a SD and quite frankly Winstanley is beyond amateurish in this.

Spot on Rob, great article.

I hope the owners read this because it sums up the majority of fans views about the SD's.
