Hey guys, welcome to the calm after and before the storm.
By that I mean the international break right after the transfer deadline day madness, that they had the nerve to stick in right at the start of a brand new season when Chelsea were busy gaining solid winning momentum!
Not ideal for us at all really, but we are back in action this weekend against Aston Villa, thankfully.
Some personal news - I went down with covid last week, it really knocked me out for about two days. I was lucky compared to many though, for me it was pretty much just a bad head cold and I shook it off within a few days. We had also been lucky in my area, it hadn’t really filtered down to us yet until recently, now it is pretty rife here.
I lost my taste, still have to be honest. I can’t taste Pizza man it’s crazy!
Anyways, I’m good now and so is my wife, who had it the week before me! Thank you to all those who messaged and commented with good wishes, I appreciated that a lot!
Back to the mighty Chelsea, let’s take you through this weeks Newsletter.
First of all, I’ve been speaking to my contacts about Jude Bellingham and Chelsea’s interest, you can check the latest out on that here. If anyone watched him for England on Sunday, he was fantastic once again.
I’ve also been a little involved in Chelsea’s move to sign young Bristol City academy player, Shaun Wade. The 14-year old attacking midfielder has now joined Chelsea, you can read all about that one here.
Chelsea and Saul Niguez have been loving life after the Spaniard joined us on deadline day last week, both posting plenty of content on their Twitter accounts, and it was lovely to see to be honest.
He’s now completed his first week at the club, so how has he been impressing Thomas Tuchel and his staff so far? Find that out here. This one also includes Marcos Alonso’s words on his friend Saul joining Chelsea.
Here is a little piece on Tino Livramento, and whether I believe Chelsea will try and sign him back or not in the near future.
And finally, here is a comment piece from me on why I believe Reece James would be a better defensive midfielder than any other position he has played, making James my cover star for this weeks newsletter!
ADVANCED WARNING! - There will be NO newsletter next week due to me being on my honeymoon from this Friday (10th Sept) until the following Friday (17th).
I am taking the week off entirely from all I do, so I won’t be active on Twitter either or doing any of my other articles for other publications.
I will chat with Dan to see if he can still get a Podcast out for you guys next week, and maybe bring Jai Mcintosh in with him to replace me once again, as I know many of you are regular listeners of the show and it would be cool if we can still get something out for you.
I never take time off, even when I go away, so thought I should at least take my honeymoon off! We are going to Brighton for the week for those interested - Neither of us have been before and wanted to go, and we couldn’t be dealing with all the covid regulations of traveling abroad this year, we will probably attempt that next year now!
I’ll check in with you all again before I go in the form of an article just reminding you all that I wont be about. Take care guys, Si.
Thanks for the news, I myself am in the covid boat now, it hit me a bit harder, I had a full on flu like experience, also lacking smell and test, feeling on the mend now. Keep up the good work!
Great newsletter as usual and much appreciated. I really like this format with your insights into different stories. Really pleased you managed to get this out despite the horrible covid. Hope they are no lingering after effects to spoil your break.
