Chelsea sign another young rising star Shaun Wade
The Blues have moved to pick up the highly rated attacking midfielder from Bristol City
Chelsea have raided the South West once again in the shape of the Bristol City youth academy.
It isn’t the first time that Chelsea send their youth scouts to the South-West, having raided the West Country previously for Ethan Ampadu of Exeter City in 2017, bidding for Bristol City's Antoine Semenyo in 2019, snatching Jacob Maddox from the Robins in 2013, snapping up now England U19 striker Jude Soonsup-Bell from Swindon Town, and fostering links with Bristol Rovers after signing Scott Sinclair in 2005.
It is an area where they have a heavy scouting network looking at younger players, and they also signed 15-year old Bristolian Kaiden Wilson last summer.
This summer, fellow Bristolian Shaun Wade has joined him at Chelsea.
The 14-year old has been making waves in the Bristol City youth setup for his mazy runs on the ball and direct style of play.
Wade has joined Chelsea and gone straight into our academy at U-14 level.
Being located in the South West myself, I am familiar with the setup at City and have some contacts there. Wade is certainly a player with that extra factor about his game.
You can see a nice bit of video of what he is about here..
He has also confirmed the move on his Instagram account here..
Chelsea’s scouting system at youth level has proven time and time again to be one of the best in the world, and their academy and the way they develop players has also proven to be of an A1 standard.
Wade will certainly be a name to keep an eye on here.
