Good Evening ladies and gents,
Apologies for the late article!
Today I am doing the reverse of what Si did yesterday and ranking every player we have sold under Clearlake’s ownership, I am ranking them on my opinion of the sale and if the club made the right decision.
Examples; 10/10 great sale from the club, 1/10 awful decision….
Only significant sales, NO loans, NO free transfers.
Timo Werner;
Just didn’t work for him at Chelsea and in England, he did okay upon his return to Leipzig, but the rumours are that he is up for sale again.
Rating - 9/10
Emerson Palmieri
He was a good back up in my opinion and I maintained at the team I would rather him backup Chilwell than sign Cucurella, I may have been proved wrong depending which angle you view it from.
Rating - 8/10
Jorginho
Had to be sold, 6 months left on his contract and to get any fee was excellent. Didn’t dislike him as much as most, BUT he was never right for us once Sarri left in my view.
Rating - 10/10
Billy Gilmour
Was very disappointed when we sold Billy, one of the first times I had questioned Tuchel, good player and will regret this in the future.
Rating - 2/10
Kai Havertz
His performances up until the last 2 weeks for Arsenal will prove this decision is right. He is 24 years old and nobody knows his best position, I LAUGHED when Arsenal fans convinced themselves Arteta could transform into Xhaka’s replacement, he is already playing as a forward for them.
Rating - 8/10
Mason Mount
This one stung at the time as it always does with Cobham graduates, BUT you know what, it doesn’t hurt half as much as I thought it would seeing him in a Man U shirt and having a certain Mr.Palmer definitely helps that, 1 G/A in 2023 for Mount and Man U’s circus makes this a lot easier to swallow as well.
Rating - 7/10
Mateo Kovacic
1 year left and 30mil received is a good deal regardless of anything else, his continued injury problems in his last 18 months at The Bridge have continued at City and in my view it was an odd signing from them, we don’t miss him, regardless of our situation.
Rating - 8/10
Kalidou Koulibaly
The right signing at the wrong time, should have been signed in 2018/2019 after that we should have moved on, was never the right move although it seemed clever at the time. Great sale, great price.
Rating - 10/10
Christian Pulisic
I type this as i watch Newcastle v AC Milan, he is still as frusttrating to watch as always but it makes it ALOT easier seeing him play for another side. Decent price but he had to go.
Rating - 8//10
Edouard Mendy
Was never good enough in hindsight, had a good 12/18 months once Tuchel took over was pure adrenaline of a move to a top club, as soon as that faded he was poor.
Rating - 9/10
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Ah man this one hurt the most out of any on this list, I am still a fan boy and now actually own a Milan RLC 8 shirt! It was the right decision for him at the time, BUT I cannot help but think how well he would fit in our current side. The past is the past however
I am biased with this rating and will accept that.
Rating - 2/10
Thank you all for reading, please give me your ratings in the comments
Luke Rushbrook
Pulisic just scored, typical😂 commentators curse
Nice report Luke.
The only player missed is Toni Rudiger!
Yes he went on a free but
How I would love to see him back and Captain of our club!
He'd sort these bunch of cowards out.
