So agree with you, Luke that is great to see us buying players of this nature AGAIN and cutting out the middleman (a.k.a. Brighton) and having the belief in our new scouting and data set up. That’s not to say we shouldn’t be buying known experience players as well but I think this on the back of last season purchases of Jackson, gusto and even Palma show that we are making progress. Thank you for your more detailed review which I suspect most of us have been unable to, see elsewhere through our other sources
Love that we are making these types of signings. One thing that frustrated me about he Abramovich era was that we’d overpay for players who were not good enough or past their prime only to then sell for a lesser fee or loan until their contract expires.
Glad to see that new ownership have learned from the mistakes hey made in the first year.
Fantastic write up, Luke! I hadn't heard of him before the weekend but he sounds like he's got some great attributes, his aerial ability being one of them. I think I read somewhere that he can be prone to allowing players to run off him so, like you, people suggest he's currently better suited somewhere in defence rather than in midfield.
Excellent analysis of Renato Veiga, Luke.
