Great review and couldn’t agree with you more on the majority of it. I do think that Enzo has not been as prominent and forceful in our team as I expected this year after what we saw last season. Maybe it’s other players around him that created that impression. That said it was great to see our team take on the best team in Europe and match them. Some tidying up in defence and maturing across the pitch and we will be the real deal over (Especially with players to return).

Nice One Luke !!! We have done very well to go toe to toe with City. In layman terms, Caicedo should have been more effective.

Also a side note which Poch and staff might have already noticed - Mudryk opens up space, a lot of space. There has been this crazy list of stats on Twitter TL from Arsenal game before and after Mudryk got substituted at 67 minute. Arsenal got into the game after his substitution. Believe multiple people have been taken out of the game by Mudryk just like Werner did in UCL final for Havertz winner.

For Nico’s goal against City, Mudryk took 3 players out. Again courtesy to a Twitter account ( Sorry can’t remember).

I am hoping and praying that this has been noted and will be leveraged more. Also it’s funny that - these days low block looks terrifying than top attacking teams. We need revenge in the reverse fixtures 😝😝🤩🤩.

Brentford, Forest, West Ham, Villa.

Jackson needs to take a chill pill before games. He tends to get over enthusiastic in front of refs during calls against us.

Good report Luke.

I enjoyed reading it.

A couple of things.

1st goal.

I thought it was a pen. As soon as Cucurella was caught wrong side and was hanging on to Haarlands shirt you run the risk of giving a penalty away.

Also Reeve James laying on the floor, not hurt, didn't help either.

2nd goal.

You mention Gallagher & Silva.

However, watch Palmer amble out to Bernardo, who crossed it in.

If you are going to allow crosses to come in on the angle, you are inviting trouble. It is very difficult to defend against the movement & quality of opposing players in the Prem, and you get punished.

It was the same for Trossards equaliser for Arsenal...

Mondueke didn't shut down Saka, and we got punished.

The bottom line is.. We must shut opposing players down quicker and prevent crosses into the box to minimise getting punished.

3rd goal.

Gallaghers fault.

Got bullied off the ball by Guardial then stood arguing with the linesman.

City took a quick throw in to Bernardo, he banged the ball diagonally long to Alvarez and we were all out of position.

We had City penned in and by not concentrating, they picked us off.

I think that's the most annoying part.

All of City's goals were preventable with a little more care.

We are making progress and to come back 3 times against the best team in the world, shows we are moving in the right direction.

Next step..

Get a proper number 9!

Well said Luke it’s nice to see a balanced right up across the board as for some people one or 2 of the players can do no right.
