Yesterday, I saw every part of Gallagher's game that I really like and think is invaluable to the team but I also saw the part of his game that I really dislike. Gallagher's key at triggering the press and I like how he's willing to fight and compete for every ball. What I don't like (and it's something I've noticed throughout the season) is how his aggression level doesn't change once he picks up a booking. You don't have to go completely passive when you're on a yellow, but you should try and not go for every 50-50 ball that you see, which Gallagher tends to do whether he's on a booking or not.

There were a couple matches earlier in the season where I was really scared he was on his way to being sent off, but the referee was really lenient and he ended up being subbed in the second half to protect him. Yesterday, he went in for a couple of aggressive challenges where he didn't win the ball before the sending off where the referee played advantage and didn't pull it back or revisit the previous challenge. It was like the ref was waiting for him to go for something without an advantage so he could send him off, and Gallagher played right into it.

Sorry Luke, not having Gallagher at all!

4.5/10 for a player sent off and who left us roasting, to play the 2nd half plus 15 minutes without him.

He runs around like a headless chicken, giving needless fouls away in dangerous areas in EVERY game.

This has been coming for weeks!

Football is about margins .

Diers goal that got disallowed. Gallagher should have been marking him.

Yes it was chalked off!..Just!

Bentacours miss in the Spurs game.

Who was marking him Gallagher!

Man City's 3rd goal, one minute after HT. Gallagher bullied off the ball by Guardial, then stood petchantly arguing with the linesman. Meanwhile City played on.. Haarland scores!

I'm not a fan of him and never will be, offers no goals, no assists and is certainly not a leader or captain material.

Runs around yes!.. but other than that. He is a squad player and nothing more.

As for the two goals yesterday?

Colwill at fault for both.

As with Kuleveskis goal for Spurs, Colwill drops off, doesn't shut the ball down and gives the Brighton player a free shot on his left foot to score.

Pochettino has got to sort this out.

2nd goal.

Out jumped by Pedro who's 5ft 8..

Nowhere near tight enough when marking him.

Both bad errors and both were preventable.

We got away with it yesterday, no doubt about that.

Good report though I enjoyed reading it.

However he doesn't need to wear the armband just turn up. An extension on the contract is far from certain but you could argue at 39+ yrs old and still world class imho he deserves one.

Players with his class and skill do not come round often but when they do not many are still playing in their late 30's.
