Not sure why we keep donating minutes to obvious transfer busts such as Disasi and Badiashile. Not to mention the pointless 30m KDH deal while Carney is rotting away on the bench despite being both a better player now and having a higher upside.

Meanwhile we have top youth prospects like Acheampong who are questioning their futures at the club over a lack of chances? I cant think of any real justification for why Disasi is starting while Acheampong has had a whopping 27 minutes so far this season.

2 things:

We can now appreciate some of the sh1te the Board have bought when they are exposed to meaningful opposition;

For a manager that has never won anything, Maresca is taking a big risk making 11 changes in a knockout competition (and only making 1 substitution)

Totally agree Alex. 11 changes away to a really good side in the latter stages of a cup competition is poor management. You can get away with doing that against someone like shamrock Rovers or but not Newcastle United for God's sake!! I'm envious that Amorim Is looking United bound, if memory serves I think over 60% of us on this very site wanted him, including Si, and Maresca got about 12%?

Massively reactionary comment in my

Opinion, let’s not forget the league table and the level we’ve been playing at.

Personally not bothered we’re out of this cup, would have meant 3 games in 5 days mid December. Focus on conference league on the cup front

Your welcome to your opinion and mine was always a preference for Amorim thank you. Your player ratings for tonight were amongst the lowest on any site and you call me reactionary!!

I am reacting to a one off game, you’re stating a comparison between Chelsea fans wanting Amorim hired over Maresca, big difference.

I also mention at the end that it’s a one off game and I won’t be over thinking or over analysing.

And I was stating who Chelsea fans voted for on this site by a majority including Si

I still can’t believe Gordon only got a yellow for that challenge on Cucurella. Shows how VAR has warped the way officials see the game now. Gordon 100% knows what he’s doing and knows he won’t get sent off without VAR.

Mudryk should have had 2 assists today, played 2 brilliant passes to Felix and Nkunku in the box, they SHOULD score.

Would chance everyones view on Mudryks performance aswell

Thought Misha was our best player tonight. Tonight and Greece have been big improvements from him. I’d still start Neto on the left, but Misha is making a case for more prem minutes.

Felix and Nkunku on the other hand were very poor. I expect more from the, given their CL pedigree, etc. They’re not getting anywhere near the first 11 on performances like tonight.

Hopefully Maresca asked all them the obvious question - did you really wanted to win this game? Because it was so clear the team didn't fight for anything nor to be part of first team!!!

I don’t think you can just dismiss performance's like that. It was a league 1 defensive performance and also the attitude in the first half left a lot to be desired. The players know it’s a B team and played like it.

A depressing watch.

Luke whilst I thought your scores in a couple of places were harsh I also thought they were over generous with Felix for example.

So my thoughts are as follows Park this game and move on.

Newcastle dressing room before match “Chelsea really underestimate us sending the C team out against us what are we going to do lads?”

Nkunku can’t score without service ie the ball someone wants to have a word with the lads who are shooting from 35 yards way high way left or right you can’t score that way. Play the killer pass put a player through otherwise it’s wasted.

Maresca needs to think again if he intends to treat the other uk cup competition the same way because when you come up against tough opposition you need to respect them.

Finally Murdryk is starting to show improvement we may yet get our monies worth, Cucerella played really well again and was deserving of a 7 at least.

4th time at st James park to see us play and same outcome everytime think I’ll stay away from there in the future 😂 was a lot of frustration towards the need to play so slow and I’d say about 6 players come over at the end to clap I think it’s a big issue with our squad when we lose

Disappointing all around really. It just seemed Maresca wasn't taking this competition seriously. Just hope we at least get top 4 and the win the conference league.

Travelling fans should be reimbursed after that garbage. It might not mean much to Maresca but it does to us. A limp surrender to a very average Newcastle team . The players representing our club last night apart from Cucurella either aren't good enough (in many cases) or weren't motivated enough which is shameful. And, the best goalkeeper at the club is on loan at Strasbourg which is not clever. No wonder that Sanchez is Maresca's first choice as Jorgensen might even be worse (if that's possible).

carney would have done massively better than either veiga or enzo.
