Whilst I don’t think we should be considering a change of the manager before at least the end of the season and a full review. For many the reasons I’ve quoted elsewhere on this blog. This is a fantastic review of four options. Thank you for the in-depth analysis, Luke. Quality insight.

Good to read the style review. Of course there is more to it. It’s the ability to make the players function as a team. For a foreign manager language and ability to adapt to the premier league, a new country, family being happy enough moving etc. feyenoord in the Erdivise are historically stronger than girona in La Liga but Sanchez had sone fairly average seasons prior to this one. I’ve watched a few girona games this season. Some great performances and some average ones. Feyenoord also have a centre back, a right back and a well valued striker that seem interesting. Amorim is also interesting. People say changing the manager isn’t enough but sometimes it is.

for me if Poch would get the chop, the two DOF need to go too. they are the ones that extensively conducted the lengthy interview process and apparently being blown away by his plans and vision for the young player we have, also they are the ones that fumbled the latest player recruitment took ages negotiating for Caceido and Lavia till the owners stepped in and had to pay over the odds for them. they are mid table DOF and we don't need 2 cooks in the kitchen, we just need one top DOF that can recruit one top coach and we go again.

Anything that involves playing from the back, including taking a short goal kick, is a complete waste of time.

Based on your really good analysis, Amorim seems to play an interesting way that could suit our players (thinking back to Tuchel)

Purely on a theoretical basis Ruben Amorim because I like the 3 4 3 layout he plays, but the issue’s still remain that their is a golf between what the SD’s are getting and what the manager & club need!

Would take any of these apart from kompany but agree that literally no point unless you add some experience and get rid of the directors !

it is mad to think that any of these guys can do a better job than Poch could in the current situation. the problems are way deeper than the manager, and a whole load of change is not going to improve things; more change is likely to make things worse. The past 18 months have shown it doesn't matter who the manager is; the clusterf*ck of ripping the whole club apart and trying to put it back together again is too much for any person to handle.

ill give you an example: poch says three cbs on the pitch - everyone moans at him for being too conservative. plays 2 wingbacks versus wolves... we get swamped and consequently thumped. his decision making i think has been fair this season; it is crazy to think one of these guys wont get derailed by the clown cart that is cfc at the moment

We have no identity, and no clear pattern of play under Poch, after 7 months.

Players played in wrong positions

Poor game management.

Poor substitutions

And that's without hearing what Si, has put out from those connected at Cobham, about training and players receiving feedback about their data

Sorry, I have been massively dissapointed with Poch and he needs to go.

This squad is not an 11th place squad in any way shape or form .

Everton

Bournemouth

Fulham

Brentford are ALL below us are, and yet are better teams in terms of structure, with better coached teams.

No way either that,

Newcastle

Brighton

West Ham

Tottenham

Wolves

Have better players or a squad than us.

I wasn't expecting top 4 this year, but top 6-8 yes.

Poch has failed to deliver, why prolong the agony?

Time to get rid.

I agree with a lot of this in that it is not good enough. but look at the players who have been played in position? They're still whack. Is it because we've signed either duds, diamonds in the rough who need a few seasons to shine, no seniority and leadership, which leads to these outcomes? Yes. A new manager is still going to have to rely on Sterling as his talisman...

If we have to rely on Sterling, we will be relegated!! He’s the worst signing ever for the price & wages we are paying that loser. He shouldn’t see the pitch, he’s awful!!

That doesn't all change with JUST a new manager though Darren, A LOT more has to change as well as a new manager for those things to be eradicated.

I agree with the vast majority you have said but sacking and replacing Poch fixes one small part of that.

Sorry Luke, the majority of things DOES change though, with a new manager.

Set style of play.

More organised defensively

Better game management

Inspiration, being coached better. We look awful.

We need a centre forward, we all know that.

Also what about having a manager that can bond with the fans as well.

We are 11th because of Poch and his poor tenure at the club.

We should be at least 8 within touching distance of top 6.

Instead, here we are in 11th yet again. Miles away.

New manager doesn't change game management completely, that is as much down to him as it is the players implementing it.

Poch has requested a centre forward in BOTH windows since he has been at the club the SDs have failed him there.

I am not for or against Poch departing because the root cause of the problem is still there, Poch has been poor in some regards definitely and he needs to change that but he is being scapegoated a bit for how much of the blame is actually on him, but that comes with being a manger. They will always be the first to go and easiest to blame and exactly why we are still in this position.

I'm leaning closer to your opinion than I am the other 99% of Chelsea fan Henry, I can't lie, the issues are deep rooted from The board down, nobody is exempt from the issues and everyone is adding fuel to the fire with bad performances from the players, poor tactics from Poch etc. But patience is a virtue! Unfortunately, our fans will never step away from the hire and fire culture and that is something I have had to come to terms with in recent times, which means we will never be a club that is sustainably dominant, which is pretty sad.

So so still 100% this Luke, the club is a cluskerfcuk really is, clowns & egos.

Just as we seemed to turn a corner, not sure Coldplay can fix this club with the way its run being the first issue.

Luke, Cesc I would be a shout, everyone would be united behind him, Id take Dennis back as well upstairs, none of this will happen as Como has them

Wrexham have a manager that has just done back to back promotions, why is he not on the manager list, gotta laugh at this club and they said Roman did not run the club well

I really like Amorim. He plays good football, is very good tactically and I think our squad with a few additions would really suit his style of play.
