Good Evening, Ladies and Gents,
Welcome back to the 23/24 season loan army report. This is a summary of what our loan players have been up to over the festive period.
Lets get into it……
Gaga Slonina:
Two more games for Gaga, since the last report another couple of decent showings although still in a poor side.
I think playing for a poor side will help Gaga long term with his shot stopping and concentration, but I do wonder how it is affecting his confidence.
Bashir Humphreys:
4 x 90 minutes over the festive period for Bash, a couple of good performances, a clean sheet and a battering in that period.
Bash has re-established himself in the starting XI now and is continuing to develop, I caught a bit of their game v West Brom and was really impressed with him.
Zak Sturge:
Zak has been recalled and may have a chance to stay with the first team squad or go back out on loan.
Andrey Santos:
Andrey has been recalled and may have a chance to stay with the first team squad or go back out on loan, but he does have an international call up with Brazil U23s in the last month.
Cesare Casadei:
One start in the four festive fixtures for Cesare and a total of 168 out of 360 minutes which is a slight improvement than the fixtures over the previous period.
He also scored v Rotherham in a 3-0 win, there is a lot of rotation at Leicester but he has only had 2 starts in the last 10 matches, it is slightly concerning for me, although Leicester have been excellent and do have a PL midfield in my view.
Tino Anjorin:
Tino is still injured, due back by the end of January.
Omari Hutchinson:
4 appearances, 1 start and an assist for Omari over the 4 festive fixtures, Ipswich have been struggling to win games over the last 3/4 weeks, with 4 draws and 1 loss.
Still impacting from the bench and appearing in every fixture.
Harvey Vale:
Arguably our loanee of the season in my opinion, especially when you take into context how bad last seasons loan was.
4 fixtures, 4 x 90 minutes, 2 MOTM, 2 League 1 team of the week appearances and 3 assists, it is safe to say Harvey has had an incredible festive period for Bristol Rovers. He is still rotating between playing, Full-Back, Winger and Wing-Back.
He could end up saving us a lot of money in the Left-Back department, I genuinely think he has all of the attributes to transition into a top class Full-Back/Wing-Back, I have always questioned him being a winger, only because of his lack of raw pace, he has great crossing and dribbling attributes.
In the youth days I always preferred when he played more central, but now I think he may have found HIS best position.
Charlie Webster:
The dutch league is on a winter break right now, Charlie was an unused sub in the only fixture since my last report, another loan we should consider recalling and maybe sending him out in the EFL somewhere.
Diego Moreira:
A winter break in France currently, no fixtures since the last report.
Mason Burstow:
3 unused sub roles for Mason and one 45 minute appearance from the bench at HT v Rotherham, a loan that is starting to quickly fall apart after a promising start, another recall and resend could be the best solution.
David Datro Fofana:
A winter break in Germany currently, no fixtures since the last report.
Angelo Gabriel:
A winter break in France currently, no fixtures since the last report.
Dion Rankine:
4 fixtures, 3 x 90 minutes, a goal and a real positive vein of form for Dion, he is playing in a pretty poor Exeter side currently, but is a shining light from what I have read.
It is even better to see him complete 3 90 minutes in a row and he looks to be fully over that injury.
Alex Matos:
Alex Atos has today joined Huddersfield Town on loan for the rest of the season and I will now be reporting on his progress weekly.
Thanks for reading.
Luke Rushbrook
