Dan, thoughts next season on Kai being more of a hybrid creator/goalscorer, particularly if we sign haaland? Feel like his attributes are tailor made for a hybrid role off haaland. Generally has a beautiful final pass and can score goals, especially when he gets some continuity on the pitch
Hey Jason, thanks for the question. I believe Kai is best suited to playing as a 9.5 behind a true #9 in Tuchel's system. He has to have a "free role" and be free to drift and find spaces where he can penetrate their defence with dribbling, the final pass/shot.
Mean this more in relation to his ability to find a pass/make a good decision in the midst of high pressure in the final third, a rare skill. Hasn’t shown it a heap for Chelsea yet, but has done it for Germany and at Leverkusen, feel like it’s a skill of his that’s been underappreciated/overlooked by the fan base
An experienced head talking actual sense! Thank you!🙏
Thanks, Hoy!
Perfect summary Dan.
Cheers mate!
