The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 7th August 2023!
Well folks, the football season returned at the weekend and what a sight it was! The divisions below the Premier League all started their campaigns, and the Community Shield marked the start of PL football coming next weekend! Football is back, and Chelsea are almost back!
Whether you’re excited, nervous, confident, or completely pessimistic about the season ahead and our opener against Liverpool, you cannot help but edge towards the end of your seat as Chelsea return this coming Sunday!
We are in the middle of picking our community starting Xl for the game, and we unfortunately have to make a change with the injury to Christopher Nkunku, and also another goalkeeper added in since last week. Robert Sanchez to start? Who replaces Nkunku? Head here and pick your updated starting Xl for the game. This week we will start to do our predicted Xl and see how it differs.
Moises Caicedo was left out of the Brighton squad entirely on Sunday for their friendly game, and it of course got tongues wagging. Fabrizio Romano said it was a clear message from the player’s side; he wants to leave this summer. So that could prove to be quite telling. I have more on that story and all the rest of the latest transfer news roundups in here.
And I have more on Caicedo in my midfield situation sourced article here, which also features a new name in midfield that Chelsea have added to their target list. Also updates on Tyler Adams, Michael Olise, and much more in this one.
Going back to Sanchez, with his arrival being confirmed over the weekend, everyone has been offering their opinion on what they think of the signing. Having fully pondered it, I believe that it will end up being a risk worth taking, and I explain why in here.
Finally, our guy Luke Rushbrook had some pretty good articles out over the weekend so do head to the home page and scroll down the articles to see all of them. But this one here in particular is very interesting, selecting his perfect end to the transfer window. Not sure many will disagree with this, let’s see if Chelsea deliver the goods!
That’s it for today, I’ll be on the live blog from around 8am today as usual, see you there!
Peace, Si.
