Latest on Felix/Gallagher & Osimhen/Lukau, Premier League is back! Can we wait for Mudryk to improve 'over time'? Why Chelsea might be preparing for a transfer ban, Loan army roundup: Week 1, More...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 16th August 2024!
Morning all,
Welcome to the weekend once again, and this weekend is not just any old weekend, it’s the return of Premier League football!!
It’s Manchester United and Fulham kicking things off tonight in the 8pm kick off, and then on Sunday it’s Chelsea’s turn.
The Blues welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge for the season opener in the 4.30pm kick off UK time. The game will be shown on Sky Sports at the main event for the day, and you can get my pre-match thoughts, score predictions, and lineup prediction in here!
Mykhailo Mudryk will be hoping for another start in this game, and he also did an interview with the Chelsea website earlier this week. The winger says we are yet to see the best of him but it will come ‘over time’. My question is, can we afford him more time as he goes into his third season as a Chelsea player and has still not showed anything to suggest he can make it at the club long term? I have all that and more in here as well as a poll for you guys to drop your views on Mudryk too.
Before we go any further, I’d suggest scrolling the live blog from yesterday in here. This covers all your latest Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours and hones in all all the big transfer topics in one place. This is where you will find all your latest updates including some late night news on the Joao Felix/Conor Gallagher and Romelu Lukaku/Victor Osimhen deals.. 👀
Next up we have The Score with his latest drop. He’s gone into the potential transfer ban that Chelsea could face soon. Remember, this is all speculation at the moment and we don’t even know if Chelsea will get a ban, or a fine, or anything at all. But it does appear that the club are being smart and planning for a possible ban, and Score has explained why that is a good thing in here.
And of course, we have the main man Luke to see us out for the week with his latest article. It’s the first eagerly anticipated loan army roundup of the new season with the lower leagues kicking off last weekend! You can check that out in full in here.
Right, I’ll be back on the site on Sunday in time for the big game. Anything else that comes out before that then I’ll jump on the Substack App in the chat section to report!
Have a good weekend all, and COME ON THE MIGHTY CHELSEA FC!!!!!
Peace, Si.
