Pleasure to read “ The Score” makes a change from the endless Chelsea are rubbish with no justification that I’ve spent the season reading.

When you look at the stats you see what’s happened in the future there will be 1 of 3 results :-

We stay the same

We get worse

We get better

My bet is on the 3rd we get better purely b3cays3 with time the team will bed in.

I disregard the win percentage because half the wins have been against lower league teams and the worst three teams in the premier league. Never mind the lack of style or identity. Stats are no substitute for reality. And I use stats in my job all the time.

Great Article - Thanks Si. There are positives and frustrating negatives. Hoping that we do better in the second half and get to 5th place and win a cup.

Fully agree mate! So many of the fan base are used to the hire and fire if things don’t work out straight away and it becomes very toxic. Poch can be frustrating at times but he needs time. I always thought that his 1st year at Chelsea was going to be extremely difficult due to the amount of young players we have. Would be nice to give him a few years like most of our rivals have done with their managers and also give him a bit more of a say in the transfer market and see where he can take this Chelsea squad

Simon, it’s also worth considering dividing the season so far into two parts, because I believe you will see an improvement in the second half of the first half of the season, if that makes sense. Add to that some of our more influential players have not been available for us. James, Chilwell, Nkunku plus, in the latter in his replacement, Carney, and periodically, other important players not being available. What more are we gonna replace him with that will actually want to come to the club?

The thing with stats is that they can be used to spin a narrative

OK, we've only kept 8 clean sheets this season and lost 6 of our last 7 games away from home. 3 of our next 4 league games are away, so let's see where we are after that
