Cole Palmer now un-droppable, Ian Maatsen must also start games, POLLS: Osimhen, Toney, Abraham, Watkins, Enzo, Cucurella, Disasi, Fulham, Brighton and more, Player Review: Omari Hutchinson, + more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 29th September 2023!
Morning all!
I’m still celebrating over here I can’t lie. Chelsea won a game of football and scored a goal in September! Before our win against Brighton I was constantly singing a great tune by the band Greenday, ‘wake me up, when September ends’ as things really did get that bad! But I’m taking this win and I’m running with it until Monday at least!
There’s plenty to talk about and debate after the game as there always is, but thankfully we can assess this one with a bit more positivity for once. Cole Palmer was fantastic and for me, he should have been starting games even before Wednesday night. Now he’s become un-droppable, and I explain why in here.
Another player who needs to be starting matches for us right now was Palmer’s partner in crime from Wednesday night, Ian Maatsen. The pair linked up superbly with each other and with Nicolas Jackson, and they really do look like the answer in attack for us right now. I explain in detail why I think that in here, and also how Maatsen just has an incredibly high footballing IQ.
The polls are out a day late this week much to the annoyance of the SPTC community faithful here. I had the masses out the front of my house with pitchforks at one point yesterday! But fear not, the latest set of polls have arrived better late than never. In these we have the new striker debates, rating players from Wednesday and discussing positions etc, and then picking some choice for Mondays’ game against Fulham. Another good set of polls here with a lot of thought gone into them :)
Luke Rushbrook has been busy this week scouting and reviewing some of our on loan players, and we can now take a look at his third article of the week for us here, which is a performance review on Omari Hutchinson who is looking super impressive out on loan with Ipswich Town this season.
Finally for this week, be sure to round up ALL your latest Chelsea news in one place here. This covers more match reactions and quotes from players, Journo’s etc, transfer news, and of course any injury news and sourced stuff that I have.
Latest Podcast was out yesterday and you can find that here if you haven’t yet had a listen.
I’m not sure about content from now until Sunday yet. I may jump on if there is anything worth updating or writing about, and Luke might do an update. We will see how busy it is and if anything is going on. Anything I put out I’ll send to your emails anyway so you wont miss it. Otherwise, I’ll be back on Sunday as usual.
Have a cracking stress-free weekend people off the back of a Chelsea win, until Monday at least! UTC!
Peace, Si.
I really missed it .. sad..
No Friday blog have you given Luke the day off Si?
