Can we play Spurs every week? Pochettino: 'Experienced players help & volume of youngsters at CFC make it harder', Poch, it's disrespectful to patronise fans, New segment, News roundups, More..
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 3rd May 2024!
Morning all,
It was a Chelsea match day at Stamford Bridge last night with The Blues welcoming London rivals Tottenham for the Premier League match up.
We have now done the double over Spurs with a 2-0 win last night, also making the most of our game in hand and climbing up to 8th. Four games left to play, and chances to make Europe still there!
You can get my full thoughts on the game, the scoreline, the performance, and individual player and manager ratings in here.
On Sunday we face West Ham in our next match and we can only hope we will have a couple injured players back for reinforcements.
Before the game, as I always like to do, I’ve honed in on some of the comments made in the embargoed quotes from Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-match press conference for Spurs. One is a positive article, the other a negative, because here I will not do agendas and I will always flip to both sides of the coin when needed to get the full story.
Let’s start with the negative. I personally felt disrespected by some of the latest comments from Pochettino. I think he was patronising to the fan base, those who spend hard earned money on supporting this club, and he’s failed once again to read the room. The disconnect deepens, and you can get my full thoughts on that here.
The next one is positive. And in the sense of balance, I also like to acknowledge the issues that Pochettino has faced here as well as the crazy amount of injuries all season. He hasn’t been backed, at all, and his some of his latest comments has once again seen him mention that indirectly. It’s important to highlight this as well, which is what I have done in here.
As always, I rounded up all your latest Chelsea news in the same place in here, covering the last 24 hours and a wide range of quotes, subjects, and transfer news.
Luke did manage to get his latest article out for us yesterday and you can check that out in full here. It’s a new segment and also a chance for you all to get involved, so please do!
Right, well if there is anything that kicks off or any big news I need to report or speak on after now, I will jump on the Substack App in the chat section. Otherwise, I’ll be back on the site on Sunday right in time for the next Chelsea match!
Hope you all have a good weekend!
Peace, Si.
West Ham have had 8 days off while we play in 2 days with 14-15 injuries. Fatigue a concern since Poch doesn’t make too many subs. Hope the boys pull through Europa league is a strong possibility. I see United losing to Palace and Arsenal and a draw with Newcastle. We need to win all 4 not drop any silly points. Can imagine Olise dunking on United, getting us Europe them rejecting United for us thats the dream.
