Agree with everything you said there Luke. I'm done with VAR at this point. I hope they get rid of it, which I suspect is what the referees want.... How they can say inconclusive evidence for the lamptey one, then send Reece James off for that tiny little kick out/push really it was, is beyond me.
With you on the penalty as well, him scraping, and I mean scraping a stud on the ball shouldn't give him the right to go through cucurella.
Ref is inexperienced and was really poor on the field, not sure lamptey even got booked all game despite multiple fouls and the assault on mudryk yet caicedo was booked in the 79th minute for his first foul in the game where again, the Brighton player goes over far too easily.
The less said about Peter Bankes in VAR the better to be honest.
Felt like he was doing everything within his power to stop us winning that game. Even the Jackson "push" was so unbelievably soft.
At least we won and played well but Howard Webb has got to do something about his moron's.
I think what bothers me the most about VAR is how inconsistent they are with when to send the match official to the monitor and when they don't.
For me, if the English FA are going to go rogue and adopt VAR standards and practices that are different from the standards and practices that FIFA adopt and that most of the rest of the world follows, just abolish VAR completely and get on with it.
The current system is way too confusing for the viewer, and I have to think it's way too confusing for managers and players because effectively, there's one set of rules for international/continental club competition and one set of rules when you play in the PL. That cannot happen and really needs addressed.
probably should just enjoy doing the double over the pesky Seagulls rather than comment positively on Brighton players, but Valentin Barco. Impressive. Another decent signing by Brighton.

He doesn’t for his actual performance but it was his petulance that dropped him to that, albeit I understand why as I dissected under his match rating
I suspect your comments on marks for performance are spot on Luke.
Patterns of play have been there for a lot longer than some give the team credit for, if they are more apparent it’s because it’s finally sinking in.
If tonight’s match had been in November last year we would have lost 4-3 or 3-2 with a final 10 minute collapse.
It’s not a mistake that the team has gelled once Disasi has been benched.
Comments on sales of Gallagher et cetera welcome and I hope the club listen.
