Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents,
Today I want to talk about Axel Disasi, I had been fairly critical of him in his first few months at the club and perhaps unfairly so. We all forget at times that new players do need an adjustment or settling in period to feel comfortable at a new club and in a new country and it is often something we take for granted or do not consider.
Disasi has been excellent over the past couple of months and apart from the Wolves and Liverpool games I cannot think of a bad performance, and those games were bad overall performances from the team.
He really is showing us his leadership qualities and defensive abilities at the minute, he is physical and strong, reads the game well, is comfortable on the ball and is always encouraging people around him. He doesn’t quite have the silkiness or elegance of a Thiago Silva (not recently) but he is certainly making that RCB position his own at the minute.
During the Man City game not only was he exceptional but he produced one of the best individual CB performances I have seen from a player in a fair while, His passion stood out enormously and his face at the end of the game showed how elite his mentality is, he was gutted that we only drew away to the reigning European, World and English champions…….. that really says it all.
His passing stats are brilliant and show how progressive he is but also how good he is at retaining possession. Obviously there are improvements that can be made, but overall these are brilliant stats.
His possession stats are also brilliant and again show the progressiveness of his play
He also has some brilliant aerial stats to show his physical strength and ability to compete aerially.
As always these stats are compared against Centre Backs in Europe’s top 5 leagues (&UCL/UEL).
Thank you all for reading, please leave your thoughts below.

I can start to see why we signed him. As solid and versatile as Chalobah is, Disasi at his best is just colossal and dominant. His performance against Man City was something I haven't seen in a Chelsea team for years.
I think it's important to have at least one dominant CB in a CB pairing (ex: Rudiger, Cahill, Terry). In recent years, we struggled with CBs like Luiz, Christensen who are more ball playing but not proper defenders and I think this team needs a CB with the profile of Disasi.
and best of all..... HE"S NOT INJURY PRONE!!!
