Passionate in all the right ways, hope the owners see this and believe it to be highly representative of the supporter base as a whole. Well on!

Well, the criticisms...

Potter - big chunk of hindsight there

Lack of sales - can’t force clubs to buy players we don’t want. Do we sell cheap? (open to criticism), or wait for sales before we buy? (even more criticism)

Sponsor - this evening’s news adds context. The Premier League are backing us into a corner.

Just saying, two sides to every story.

Really great article this. Absolutely spot on with pretty much everything here. I’ve had a struggle with gambling over the last 15 years. I have for some time been very much in favour of no sponsorship on either shirts or at grounds, as well as no advertisements before, during and after games. The fact the club I love, is potentially going down this route, even if it is just a stopgap for a year, is disgusting. It completely undermines all the great work the Chelsea Foundation has done, as well as alienating many fans who unfortunately have problems with gambling. Be better.

Good article and analysis of the right things and the wrong things done by new owners. My personal view is it veered a bit to being slightly over-charitable.

Bottom line - compare first year very sensible ownership with the Newcastle project.

Blowing £600 million while you're still taking your first steps is not bright!

And then there is the sponsorship deal.........

Still, I have some optimism that your tenure will improve over the 2nd year.

Johnathon it now transpires that another sponsor had been lined up but the premier league barred it in case it upset Sky & BT as it was an American TV channel although they don’t show sport.

A well balanced article - hard to disagree with any points here. I’m not as concerned about the potential sponsor, as I think it may be the best deal available in the short-term, but yes, that should be considered against a potential hit to our reputation. But am otherwise in 100% agreement.
