Thank goodness, another good article from someone who really understands. Thank you The Score. Added to that some good follow-up comments which I agree with from James and as it often the case, Andy. The stats comparisons in Andes comment, put things into perspective. Some of the articles even on this page are unbalanced, but in the general social media are pitiful. Some of these participants probably have never seen Chelsea in a poor environment before Ken Bates took a grip when we were in the second division. For those that are old enough before the transformational season, when the lack of Kerry Dixon, Pat Nevin, Nigel Spackman, and others joined. We were a pitiful team, the joke of London. I have been assistant all season, most important word for 20 23–24 is patience. Rome was not built in a day. Next season is more important and we have to be consistent and maintain our management structure and give them a chance to build the type of football. They want to play, with the players they want to use with the squad is healthier. Just with James and Chilwell fit we would have a different scenario. That doesn’t even mention or take into account the plethora of other players that have not been available that would add to our quality. None of this ignores the fact that we still need to tinker a little bit with the squad and add one or two experience players.
James some good points there and unfortunately some if not all of the people running Chelsea style websites are too caught up in the noise coming from social media which is why I’ve given up on it a long time ago.
The score has made a serious attempt to row back from the rabble rousing article of a week ago that brought nothing to the table.
This time he has hit some (not all) nails on the head about injuries, world class manager availability, revamp the sporting dept, not delivering what the manager needs and so on.
People are making the mistake of lumping 2023 all in together it shouldn’t be as it’s 2 different teams and 2 different seasons.
22/23 we scored 38 goals in premiership.
23/24 we have scored 34 already, conceded 31
Man U came third with 58 scored 43 conceded.
Newcastle 4th 68 scored 33 conceded.
If we fine tune the attack, the good thing is the goals are flowing once again from across the pitch, and tighten the defense the 7th placed team man Utd have scored 22 and conceded 27 anything is possible.
Personally I don’t rate those with a 3/4 empty glass as true supporters.
Can someone explain why the sporting directors are incompetent?

100% article poch is right for now, Sporting Directors are an issue that needs to be addressed first.
We are where we are, enjoy the Chelsea ride its a true Dev team doing Dev things, some of these players will rise and some will drop off.
Twatter in the main is arse gravy dont let that twats get to you
HNY all you Blues #imagine not being Chelsea
He's not helping himself.
Not playing players in correct positions.
Game management is awful.
We're conceding too many of the same goals from crosses.
What the hell is being worked on at Cobham?
No set style of play.
I'm seriously underwhelmed by him.
I was expecting more from him and was never a big fan of having him in the first place.
As you stated Si, I'd give him untill the end of the season, unless Preston & Boro do a number on us.
Another excellent article thank you 👍
Just a reminder that twitter is not an accurate representation of anything.

Lucid and clear-eyed as always, Andy!
I try.
