Good Evening Ladies and Gents,
Today I am just adding on to Si’s earlier article about Poch’s experience comments.
I am still very much in the boat of Poch isn’t the right man to take us forward, I think he has been overly criticised at times, but definitely could have helped himself a lot more.
The thing I disliked the most was his comments after the United game about “fan connection”, I don’t feel it, haven’t felt it and don’t think I ever will with him in charge, many view that situation the same way……
Anyway, on to todays topic, Poch has publicly stated on multiple occasions that we lack experience and has mentioned in an embargoed section of his most recent press conference that we need to add experience this summer. That could not be more true.
Whether Poch is in charge to see which players we attempt to sign or not is a different conversation, but the sentiment remains, we are a largely inexperienced squad and we show that in pretty much every match we play, sometimes that’s a good thing, but most of the times its very unhelpful and a glaring downfall in our season.
Poch mentioned this quite early in his tenure and the board failed to act on it or back him, which is something they have done a few times to be honest and has definitely added fuel to the fire with how inconsistent our season has been and in particularly how we fare in key moments.
So we need to listen to Poch whether or not they decide to replace him, because he is right we lack experience along with leadership, two really important matters for a team to flourish and be balanced.
You look at the Thiago Silva signing almost 4 years ago, a free transfer with bundles and bundles of experience, leadership and trophy winning mentalities, since then we haven’t acted upon that and added any more players with the same attributes, it is very hard to find players to that calibre.
We have to try and sign a couple of players with either some of those qualities or multiple players who each boast at least one of those attributes to formulate a balanced squad and be able to help our young squad grow and learn.
Just a short opinion piece from me today, back tomorrow with a longer article!
Thanks for reading and all opinions welcome.

Totally agree Luke.
Poch has been a disappointment and I will shed no tears if he leaves in the summer.
But my main ire is directed towards the arrogant owners and so-called sporting directors.
I have just looked at the team selection vs Everton and my thoughts are - Jesus we have spent a £1 billion and that is the best we can do. To describe that team as average is being generous to a fault.
And before people start carping on about injuries, let me say this - if you buy injury-prone players that excuse just doesn't wash.
So for a £1 billion we have a rotational GK who is actually not great but better than our no 1.
We have back 4 leaking 2 goals a game
We still have no DM
Our forward line is Madueke, Jackson and Mudryk - no elite striker there, no elite winger either.
And £1 billion spent - it beggars belief.
To get back to the point of the article say we had bought Martinez (GK) Trossard, Onana and Ward-Prowse instead of the likes of Mudryk, Lavia, and Sanchez we would be a hell of a lot better off.
So yes, no props for Poch, but the bigger problem is the owners and the SDs which is what I think I take from the article.
