Chelsea 4 Gent 2: Reactions! Time to stop comparing generations and let new squad create their own era, SPTC community now has much more faith in general, Latest Loan Army Report, News roundup, More..
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 4th October 2024!
Morning all,
Match day last night, and a match day tomorrow! The games are coming in thick and fast, and Chelsea and Enzo Maresca will be appreciating the deep squad they have assembled right now.
Last night Chelsea kicked off the league part of their Conference League campaign against Belgian Pro League side Gent.
The Blues eased away a slight threat from their opposition last night and there was a few negative moments, but all in all it was another good performance and a decent result in the end as the Maresca train steams on!
You can get my full thoughts on the game as well as player/manager ratings, debrief, and conclusion in here.
Our man Luke was back too for his weekly and popular Loan Army Report. You can find out how all of our loan players are getting on in here.
The feeling around Chelsea has been much more positive in the last couple of weeks, so I wanted to put out some polls to see what our community are feeling. I can confirm that opinions have changed fairly drastically within the last four weeks on this site! You can see the results on many questions I asked in here.
Staying on that subject really and how we are all feeling. I have been having a think this week, and I think it’s probably time to start looking forward rather than dwelling on the past. I’ve been guilty of this and I can hold my hands up and say that. We look towards some of our best successful eras and pine for that once again, but I think it’s time to just look ahead now and let the new bunch of players create their legacy, if that’s what they want to do and can do. Time will tell. Read all about that in here.
And of course, I had the live blog running yesterday ahead of the game that will have you covered for ALL your latest Chelsea news on all subjects from the morning up until the start of the game in here.
We also had the latest episode of The SPTC Podcast out yesterday and I was back on the show alongside Jai, and we were joined by Danny Windsor for some more insights from inside the directors box last weekend. Guess who was there? Only Madonna!! Random! Hear about that and much more in here.
It’s the weekend again, and I hope you all have a good one! Chelsea play at home against Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon at 2pm UK time, so let’s hope we can keep that league momentum going! As ever, I will do a live match discussion thread on the Substack App in the chat section for you all to join, and my reactions will be out hopefully later that evening on this site (I am away this weekend so unsure of my timings and plans yet). I’ll be back on the site on Sunday anyways.
COME ON CHELSEA!!!
Peace, Si.
