Delighted to confirm that terms have now been agreed between S&DTC and it is HERE WE GO for our latest January signing!
After the arrival of insider Ben Jacobs earlier in the month for his weekly insider report column for us, we can now confirm our second big name arrival today.
Former Chelsea player and club captain Frank Leboeuf joins the team here at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea!
Frank will be doing a bi-weekly column for us to begin with for the first month, and then we will look to extend that to a weekly column!
We are absolutely buzzing to have Frank on board, especially as you know, he captained Chelsea during one of my favourite eras of the club whilst I was growing up. But not only that, I absolutely LOVE hearing Frank’s opinions on all current Chelsea affairs, and he remains a hard-hitting, passionate, Chelsea fan, just like all of us.
I don’t think anyone will always agree with people’s opinions completely all the time, but with Frank, I find myself often agreeing with his views. He views things as a fan, and not as a journalist, and his columns are going to be a fantastic addition to our content here on the site.
Frank will get just as irate as we all do after a defeat, but he will also bring something that I cannot bring, the insight of a player who has actually been at Chelsea and has actually been a professional footballer, and a very good one. I am very sure as well, that he will be able to bring further insight from the people he probably still speaks to at the club.
Leboeuf was at Chelsea between 1996 and 2001 and won multiple honours at the club including two FA Cups and a UEFA Cup Winners Cup. He played over 200 times for Chelsea and became a real cult hero at Stamford Bridge. I absolutely adored him as a player and he was what I call the start of the real ball-playing centre backs.
We are so happy to have Frank join us here. He will soon have his first article out for us, and we thought it would be super fitting for him to speak some words on Gianluca Vialli, having been very close with Luca and played alongside him at Chelsea.
Welcome, Frank!
Simon Phillips
He revolutionised defending in the PL. His impact when he signed was truly incredible, and what I would give to have his ability to play passes in our defence. Not only that, but one of the few players who I felt confident when taking a penalty, even under the most intense pressure (last minute in the cup against Leicester after that horrible assault on Erland Johnsen, anyone?!).
He got pilloried because he was set up on They Think It's All Over but for me he was the epitome of that successful late 90s side. He also was wrongly blamed for Luca's sacking.
Wow! Congrats guys, loved his passionate rant the other day. Can’t wait to see the first article
