United review, Haaland latest, Abraham's future, time for Havertz, and Tony Mount chats exclusively to SPTC
#Issue16 of our Chelsea FC Newsletter!
Mixed emotions on the final whistle at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon from a set of players and a manager in blue knowing that they could have got more than just a point.
It was a case of two top sides staying in a low gear being conscious of going too fast. But Chelsea could really have done with all three points to have an advantage in the race for a Champions League place.
The final third was a real issue for Thomas Tuchel’s Blues once again - I break that down, look at the tactics used, and go through any missed moments here.
Tammy Abraham was dropped entirely from the squad against Manchester United, and Tuchel confirmed that it was just a selection decision and he was not injured.
The England striker will naturally be frustrated missing one of the biggest fixtures he could play, and of course the speculation has started over doubts on his Chelsea future.
Does he have a future at Chelsea? I look into that here.
Another player who did not feature against United on Sunday is Kai Havertz.
Now I know he has been nursing an injury, but for me I believe he could be the key to Chelsea’s attacking problems and could make the difference needed.
It’s time to put our trust in and utilise Kai Havertz, as I explain in detail here.
Seems like the perfect time to now flick through Chelsea’s very own newspaper - The Weekly Haaland!
Erling Haaland is the talk of Chelsea fans right now, and new significant information on the story seems to come out weekly, daily in fact, and here we have the latest that we know on the situation, as the rumours seem to be growing more and more positive for Blues fans.
Finally, myself and Dan sat down with Mason Mount’s Dad, Tony, last week, and what a conversation we had.
He was full of great insights on Mason, Chelsea, and we pressed him on a number of hot topics.
This quote on Mason receiving online abuse particularly sticks with me….
"It [the abuse] doesn't affect Mason as he doesn't read it. Mase only deals with positivity.
“It does affect his family; it affects his sisters and it affects my wife. They get upset. But they know to try not to read it.
“I only read the accounts I want to read like you guys, I got thick skin.
“My family are truly humbled by the real Chelsea fans."
