Two more outgoings to be confirmed any time now
Chelsea continue to create space and balance the books
Chelsea are continuing to work hard on selling players or getting players out the door this summer in order to balance the financial books.
Whilst some of these have been loan deals, they do often have an option to buy in the deal, and also what some people fail to remember is, a lot of these deals will have renting fees, which can often be up to £1m, sometimes more. As well as that, the loan clubs will often pay all or some of the wages, getting them off Chelsea’s wage bill.
So as frustrating as it can be at times, loan moves do bring financial gain, especially when Chelsea are making sure their contracts are extended first. I believe next summer will be a much better sellers market after the pandemic effects still hitting many clubs currently.
Anyways, one deal that is apparently not going to be a loan and will see Chelsea bring in around £7m-£8m at least, will be the sale of Davide Zappacosta, who according to Italian reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, will have a medical and join Atalanta on a permanent deal on Tuesday this week.
More money coming in to balance the expenditure and potentially go towards any further signings at Stamford Bridge this summer.
Tiemoue Bakayoko will also return to AC Milan and that confirmation can come any time now as well, but this one will only be a loan deal with an option to buy of around £8m I am lead to believe.
These are two good moves, and Chelsea still have more to do with no clear links as of yet for Ross Barkley (held positive talks with Newcastle but nothing progressed since), or Danny Drinkwater (no interest as far as we know currently).
It could be a busy end to the window for Chelsea..
