Tuchel wants Marquinhos, New Striker pursuit latest, Hudson-Odoi rated, Abraham and Tomori set to leave
All covered in my latest Chelsea FC Newsletter...
Here we go again, your latest Chelsea FC Newsletter is out and it’s a juicy one this week I must say!
First of all, once again, massive congratulations to the Chelsea women’s team and Emma Hayes for winning the WSL on Sunday, another superb achievement for them during a hugely successful season so far.
Roman Abramovich even called Hayes personally to congratulate her for the success, per The Telegraph, proving once again what a class owner he is and how invested he is in ALL of his teams at Chelsea.
This week as Chelsea fans we have all permanently had smiles on our faces and if the wind changed, we’d be smiling forever, THAT is how good it has been!
First we knocked Real Madrid out of the Champions League with a 3-1 aggregate score line whilst bossing the tie over two legs, then we beat league leaders Manchester City 2-1 in their own back yard. Shall we just build Tuchel a statue now?
Well, it’s very hard not to get carried away after this week, and we deserve to enjoy it and soak it up, but we know we must now finish all this hard work off and land a major honour or two at the end of this season.
We only need four points now across our last three league matches to get Champions League football next season, and we can even get the job done against Arsenal this Wednesday if other results go our way.
So we can really cap off these great feels over the next few weeks.
Anyway, some news for y’all..
I’ve had some interesting bits of transfer news over the last week, and Tuchel has began putting names forward of his targets to the board…. Marquinhos anyone? Check that report out here.
The striker situation has remained fairly quiet recently, so I checked in on that and I am assured that despite noise out there suggesting otherwise, Erling Haaland is still being pursued by Chelsea and talks have continued.
But Sergio Aguero also still remains a firm backup option, and Romelu Lukaku is absolutely still in the pipeline. You can check out all the information I’ve got on that here.
Two players who could be out the door permanently this summer is Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham.
It would be a genuine shame to see both leave, but Tomori apparently wants to stay at AC Milan, and you can check in on the latest on this here and why it will not be the end of the world to sell him.
Abraham’s Chelsea future also looks bleak, and he is now ‘very likely’ to ask to leave the club this summer, you can find the latest info on that here.
Finally, Callum Hudson-Odoi has been barely used in recent weeks by Thomas Tuchel and that began to concern me a little, but I can give you all some assurance on that situation here.
Thanks for checking in guys, hope you are all doing well, and next time we speak on the newsletter let’s hope it is as the FA Cup winners for 2020/21!
Kristof Terreur on the Podcast this week (will be out Friday at 3pm UK time), so don’t miss that, we will be asking him all about Hazard, Lukaku, Musonda, Batshuayi, Courtois and loads more!
Remember to hit subscribe if you have not already, then check your junk items as we have been having a lot of that recently.
Peace out!
