The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Friday 17th January 2025!
Morning all!
Welcome to the weekend and Friday’s edition of our daily Chelsea Newsletter!
Plenty of things going on and to chat about this week, so it was a great time for me to return to the Podcast and speak with our man Jai about all things Chels and the biggest stories of the week. Transfer updates and more in this here.
Speaking of transfer updates, you can get ALL of those from across the last 24 hours as well as all your general Chelsea news in the same place, in the live blog from yesterday in here.
Before we get into some rants (trust me, I’d rather not be ranting but I am being forced to all this week), some sourced news from us on new strikers, centre backs, and midfielders in here. Covering the latest news on Mathys Tel, Liam Delap, Marc Guehi, and MUCH more!
Before I jump in, The Score, who is usually way more balanced and positive than even I am, has gone IN on the sporting directors and the owners on how things are being run right now across two articles.
The first one is saying ‘enough is enough’, we need to sign a new striker NOW! I completely agree with every word in this here, and it’s time the club action it.
His next one is very passionate, and is also absolutely SPOT ON too. He’s got a stern message to the club in here. The sporting directors simply MUST now be held accountable for MANY things. Big read this and a must read.
Talking about must reads, I have my ‘rant’ on the Trevoh Chalobah situation in here and generally on how badly we treat players. There is a real lack of human aspect to how this club/business is operating, and that will never sit well with me and also, will never end well. Some disgusting things have happened in my view, and I explain it all in this deep dive.
Right, that’s it for now. Wonder what next week will bring! I’ll be back on the site on Sunday with my next set of articles. Until then, I’ll jump on the Substack App if any big news comes out or I have any sourced updates to report. Otherwise, see you Sunday and have a top weekend all!
Peace, Si.
I’ve never been one to overreact, but now there is a doubt for Cole, Enzo, Lavia, and Colwill for Monday (I doubt they all miss) How can the squad be this thin? The squad building, and this “project” is being exposed. I’ve been on board with getting the wage bill in order, but what good does it do to have 50 young players in the squad that aren’t ready? And do we think there is any coincidence that the news of Garnacho and Gittens follow the news on the doubts for Monday? Bad News- Time for an SD dopamine hit! And Garnacho??!?! No, No, No, 1,000 times No! Help Maresva and the team now! Recall a Midfielder, get a ST and CB, and not depth options, front line quality. Really starting to get frustrating.
I personally think the Sporting Directors should resign. Joe Shields signings have been way better than any they have made. They need to apologise to the fans and walk. Simple as that
