The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Thursday 29th February 2024!
Morning all,
Chelsea had a game last night against Leeds United in the 5th round of The FA Cup. It certainly wasn’t vintage Chelsea and in fact, I think we largely played poorly. But the important things is we won the game and head into the quarter finals of The FA Cup!
You can grab my full thoughts, manager and player ratings in here.
Before the game, I penned a deep dive on some thoughts on Mauricio Pochettino. I’ve never disliked him and everyone knows I wanted him in this summer when we were first linked. I think he’s done some good things here in terms of building a team spirit within the squad. But unfortunately, the one thing he has failed do to and has actually actively worked against it, is building a connection with the fan base. I honestly see no way back for him right now and every press conference just creates an even bigger divide with the fans. We need accountability and not to be patronised and have our intelligence insulted. Much more on that in here.
The Score has a very interesting article for us this week, honing in on project managers at Chelsea and whether they have worked before. It’s well worth checking this one out here under the current circumstances this club is in.
Luke as always is here to roundup the articles for us today. He is staying on the fence about Pochettino because he doesn’t want to see the hire and fire culture here. You can read his latest in full here.
As always, find all your latest Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in one place here. Covering any transfer news, quotes, and anything else that happened in the wonderful world of Chelsea!
I’ll be on the live blog this morning if I can be and as always, it’s baby dependent!
Peace, Si.
