Ten Games In: Reviewing Maresca/Chelsea so far, £88m spent on new GK's but still don't have a top one, Caicedo was never a flop just took time to settle, Gusto set to leave the A-Team, Much more....
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Tuesday 5th November 2024!
Morning all,
Happy Bonfire Night to all those out watching a show later on!
There has certainly been plenty of fireworks at Chelsea Football Club in the last few seasons to keep us all, shall I say, entertained!? I promised that I would review the first ten games of this season under Enzo Maresca at the start of the season, so I have done that today in a bumper article first and foremost. Things have certainly been better than last season, but there are still some concerns. I have highlighted the positives and negatives, and much more in here as I drop my Maresca so far review!
One thing that is not in Maresca’s hands is the lack of a top goalkeeper still. Incredibly, the current owners have spent £88m on signing new goalkeepers since they came in, yet we still don’t have a top number one. How is that even possible? It’s shocking really, and I detail all of that in here.
Moises Caicedo is getting all the plaudits this week and that is great to see. He’s deserved it after a tough start to life at Chelsea. But he was never a flop, he was always just the tortoise in the hare and tortoise race. But now he is coming through and has become a super important player for us. I speak all about that in here.
Whilst Caicedo was world class against Manchester United on Sunday, Malo Gusto was the opposite. He was removed at half time and really, hasn’t been great at all this season overall. Is he about to lose his spot in the Chelsea A-Team? I think he might. Plenty of words, positive and negative, on Gusto in here.
