Tammy Abraham and team mates left 'confused' with his treatment
Interest is growing from clubs trying to sign the England international this summer
Tammy Abraham was one of the real success stories in the last couple of seasons at Chelsea when the club faced a transfer ban and appointed the inexperienced club legend Frank Lampard to take the reigns.
Abraham stood up and offered himself to lead the line, Chelsea’s new number 9 full of confidence and excitement to be able to front his childhood club who he has been at since the age of 8.
He went on to be the clubs top goal scorer for two seasons running, and despite going through patches, he largely remained a regular pick under Lampard.
Abraham is a natural goal scorer, but we would all admit that he can be inconsistent at times and needs to improve on some important aspects of his game.
However, with that said, nobody expected him to now not even get picked in the Chelsea squad under Thomas Tuchel.
Despite his small recent ankle injury, we had it confirmed that Abraham was and has been 100% fit for some time and he has been training well, determined to get back into the squad.
So it was a huge surprise to us to see him not even make the bench against West Brom on Saturday, especially when it seems pretty clear that Olivier Giroud will be leaving the club this summer.
But what does this mean for Abraham? Does it mean he too has already decided to leave in the summer? Or is he equally as surprised as us all to be omitted?
Well, it is the latter according to The Telegraph, who claim that Abraham and some of his Chelsea team-mates have been left ‘confused’ with his omission from the squad altogether.
As a result of this, they say that a number of clubs from home and abroad are now looking to pounce on this situation and sign Abraham this summer.
From Abraham’s point of view, we just know that he wants to play more regularly than he has been. We know that he loves Chelsea and wants to make it here, but he wants more minutes, he wants to be trusted as one of the main guys.
Right now he is far from getting that, and with Chelsea looking at big name strikers such as Erling Haaland, I can only see this situation going one way as things stand and it doesn’t look good for Abraham and Chelsea.
