Strikers: An opinion article
My opinion on the strikers we have been linked with so far this window
Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents,
Today I am going to give my opinion on all of the strikers we have been linked with so far for this summer transfer window.
I have checked with the main man Mr. Si Phillips and confirmed every Striker we have been linked with to date and these are them all, and my opinion on each of them.
Viktor Gyokeres - A really top level Centre Forward, been turnt into an absolute predator under Ruben Amorim, Amorim’s likely to stay put which means I believe Gyokeres will stay a further season at Sporting, I love the player but not the reported 85m fee. Steer clear for now
Ivan Toney - Myself, Si and Jai have all advocated for Toney in the last year and I still believe he is a good option moving forward, although he has understandably dropped down the pecking order with a string of injuries and below par performances since his return from a betting ban. The Euros may prove a chance for him to show what he’s made of yet again. Keep on the list, a cheap deal is appealing.
Victor Osimhen - I have voiced my concerns about Osimhen muiltiple times on this site and I am still in that frame of mind, far from the overall package and at north of 100m you need to be the perfect rounded striker in my opinion. Steer clear.
Julian Alvarez - An elite talent, truly world class player with potential to improve further, I absolutely love him and think he would fit like a glove at Chelsea. I have doubts over his availability, but he is one of a few I wouldn’t care about stumping up the cash for. SIGN if we can.
Jhon Duran - A really good talent but he is at least a year if not more behind Jackson, somebody I would compare him too, not the type of striker we should be signing albeit the potential and profile are there. Steer clear for now.
Tammy Abraham - I love this man, BUT I was content when we sold him the first time, a good striker, a really good box no9, I always have and will have serious doubt about his all round game and linkup play until it shows signs of improving further. A cheap deal could be worth a punt alongside a Toney (moving Jackson to the left). 50/50 see where the situation lies come August.
Dom Solanke - The perfect profile of striker in my mind, he ticks so many boxes and has been turnt into a very good premier league striker under a manager with a similar philosophy to Maresca. As long as he agrees to the move we should be able to pick him up for somewhere between 40-50m. IF the price is right then try to sign.
Serhou Guirassy - I know limited amounts about Guirassy, what I know I like, although I do have concerns about how much of a journeyman he has been and also the fact he has only had one good season. BUT his release clause is SOOO low it could be worth a punt.
Santiago Gimenez - I really like this guy, I have watched him a few times and been really impressed by him, I am surprised he hasn’t been picked up yet, I would question the difference between the Eridivise and the premier league and the amount he would need to adapt to flourish, we cannot afford to sign another no9 that flops. Avoid for now.
Ollie Watkins - I do like Watkins but I am one of a few that question his ability on the bigger stages in football, he’s had a terrific season for Villa but whenever he plays for England he looks lost, he may be one of those big fish, small pond type players. A fair price could be worth it, but I think he will be too expensive for what he is. Avoid for now.
If there are any strikers I have missed then please let me know and I will comment below my opinion.
Please let me know your preferred option.
Thank you all for reading

My top target would be Isak but will cost north of 80m and the rest probably
Fair assessment however I wouldn’t let Toney pick a lock let alone a premiership defense.
So we are at an impasse unless they go for someone like Solanke.
