Sources: Thomas Tuchel keen on Marquinhos
Tuchel has began listing his players he would like to sign this summer
Chelsea appear to very much be in the market for a new centre back this summer, with the contract situations of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger still remaining unclear, as is the immediate future of Kurt Zouma.
Thomas Tuchel has began to hold regular talks with board members over the plans for the transfer market this summer, and as the club did with Frank Lampard, they have asked Tuchel to compile some player profiles for the type of players he would like to bring in, and in what positions.
This has consisted of putting some names forward, and I am told that one player Tuchel has put forward is centre back Marquinhos from PSG.
The pair have a good relationship, and he is the exact type of defender that Tuchel would like to bring in.
Whether is is even close to being potentially possible is another story, but as far as I’ve been told, Marquinhos IS a target for Tuchel, and he is also a player that Chelsea have looked at over recent transfer windows, so they could be in sync with this one.
However, as we like to always keep it real here at S&DTC, just because Marquinhos is a player that Tuchel has asked for, it certainly doesn’t mean he will get him, so keep that in mind, he is just a possible target for now.
He would certainly go down as a popular option amongst Chelsea fans though, and he literally has everything Chelsea would love in a centre back, as well as bags of experience but still only being 26-years old.
