Sources: Premier League manager 'one to watch' for Chelsea this summer
Another name into the potential Pochettino replacement hat
Mauricio Pochettino has been under immense pressure all season and the axe could still come down on him.
Chelsea have wanted to stick with him and review in the summer, and that is still the case. But a downturn in results and performances and our targets becoming impossible to reach, could force a decision well before then.
But sources expect Pochettino to at least see out the season if he can continue to get results and push for Europe. However, as reported now by multiple sources, Chelsea do have a due diligence shortlist of potential replacements that they have naturally been discussing in case they need to turn to them any time soon.
As also widely reported, Ruben Amorim of Sporting is liked a lot by most at Chelsea and he was also considered before we hired Pochettino. But Chelsea face real competition for his signature and it will be tough to convince him when the likes of Liverpool and others also like him.
Other names are on the shortlist and being discussed, and you can recap those from my other sourced article on potential manager replacements in this article here, which I put out earlier in the week.
